    1. Hi there,

The camp is called "The Wilds."

  4. Not sure why the girls even bother with skirts anymore. They're not "modest" skirts, they're just trendy skirts and dresses. How is that more modest than a pair of pants? If they want to be super modest, then they shouldn't let their knees hang out. I thought that was one of their big rules, but now they don't even bother. I wear pants, but I think if you're going to market yourself as a "modest Christian girl who only wears skirts" then you should at least wear modest skirts. Seriously!

    1. There is nothing immodest about knees.

    2. I agree with you, about the skirts and dresses. MY jeans don't show my knees, so that seems more modest to me too.

    3. What's wrong with knees? I've asked this question many times on this blog and the Duggar blog but no one has ever explained it to me. This is an honest question.

    4. Nothing wrong with knees, guys. I wear shorts and jeans and skirts above my knees. I'm just saying that if the Bates and Duggar girls are going to make a big deal out of dressing modestly, then they better follow through. I heard about Whitney wearing jeans, and I was happy for her. I love how Alyssa also has her own version of modern and modest. I have no problem with knees, just with people who say one thing and do another.

    5. Anon at 7:39: I think their thing with knees and shoulders is that it's showing too much skin. At least that's what I think their explanation is.

    6. The knees serve as the cut off before you start showing the upper legs.

  5. It trally grates on my nerves that Carlin says "oh my cow." I knew this family, briefly, and they were against by-words, slang, etc. back in the day...

  7. At least the Bates realize the need to let their children fly the coup.

    1. Just wondering, how is that refreshing?

    2. I think perhaps because the other large family the boys don't wear shorts even if appropriate to the occasion like organized distance running. JB and some of the boys ran in jeans. (Although Ben does wear shorts to work out etc.
