Bates in Australia!

For those of you who live in Australia and have been eager for the Bates to visit your country, Gil and Kelly Bates are finally headed Down Under!

Alongside David and Priscilla Waller (Anna Duggar's sister and brother-in-law) and their three children (Paul, Davia, and Phillip), Gil and Kelly will be speaking at the Institute in Basic Life Principles Walk in the Light Family Conference in Lilydale, Victoria, Australia. (Lilydale is northeast of Melbourne, Victoria, Australia.)

The conference runs from Sunday, January 15th, to Wednesday, January 18th. Visit the IBLP Australia website for details on late registration. Sessions on Sunday and Monday night will be free for guests. Contact the IBLP Australia office (details on the website) for more information. If you end up attending, please send pictures and let us know if you were able to meet the Wallers and/or Bates.

  1. Disappointed to hear that the Bates are still involved with the IBLP organization.

    1. I'm curious as to why you may have thought they were no longer part IBLP's? Their son-in-law (Brandon) works for the organization. I also believe Alyssa's father-in-law was a big advocate of the program for homeschooling. Now, I am not an advocate at all as it ruined a lovely friendship I had when (my friend) became involved with the quiverull movement and IBLP. I am a Christian(Catholic) and suddenly her children were no longer allowed around mine. But...the Bates have never given any indication they were no longer practicing in that theology.

    2. I agree with both of you. I think they should stay away from IBPL.

  2. A thought for next visit, are we are able to know a little sooner than the Friday before the conference starts. Australia is a big place. I'm in remote Nt and for me and family to get to Melbourne takes a day driving to the airport and then another day to fly! I am guessing many others are missing out on such a great conference to as there wasn't enough notice or publicity about the event. Blessings xxx

  3. It's surprising they are able to travel, especially so far, with having so many children at home to care for. Does it get left to the older kids?

  4. This is right near where I'm from. It's a shame I won't be able to make it. I hope they enjoy their stay in our wonderful Country.

    1. I think it was some sort of joking insult (not at all vulgar) like "you nitwit" or "you numbskull". Something very innocent and playful.

    1. You bought a pass to the convention? That's wonderful! Enjoy, and let us know if you are able to meet the Bates. Feel free to send pictures to our email (batesfamblog@gmail.com).

Since it's in another country, we don't know what time they are speaking, but you can call the number on the website.

      Enjoy!
