Body Bumpers + Bates = Chaos

The Bates sure know how to have a good time! To ensure that everyone has fun at Carson Paine's first birthday party, Kelly Bates buys a package of "Bump N' Bounce Body Bumpers," as well as a set of "Mega Boxing Gloves," both made by Banzai.

The entire family has a blast watching the younger kids run into each other and topple over onto the ground. Then Papa Bates and the older guys decide to give the new toys a try, and they completely dominate the field (video below).

Be sure to tune into UP tomorrow evening at 9pm ET/8pm CT for a brand new episode of Bringing Up Bates.

  1. I would not label this funny. . . it's hilarious!

  2. I think it is kind of sad that it seems like the boys are encouraged to have the physical fun activities but the girls sit on the sidelines being proper ladies. The girls should also be defending forts, building things, racing on skates, wrestling, and playing with crazy, fun inflatables.

    1. Addie and Ellie have gone in an played and dug in the fort in a past episode. And a few seasons ago, all the girls went out and played baseball (or maybe softball) and they showed Tori sliding into base! It was pretty neat actually.

  3. Here is why I prefer the Bates over any other large TV family, and it has nothing to do with their religious beliefs... They appear genuine, human, and unrehearsed. They sparkle, they have fun together. I could be wrong, but I get the impression that what you see on the show is pretty much what you would see at any other time.

  4. I have seen the girls play a lot of sports. They also play in the yard with their brothers, at the fort, etc.

  5. I agree. They seem genuine and humble, but very believable. Fun to watch.
