Stars in the East, Church Mice, and Lollipops

In the final "Draw That Bates" video, will the family be able to correctly guess what John Webster, Alyssa Webster, and Judson Bates are sketching before the clock runs out? Watch the clip to find out! What other group games would you suggest to the Bates clan?

  2. I was very surprised that Alyssa didn't know which direction East or North were.

    1. There is an easy way to remember it. If you have a plus sign, north would be at the top, south at the bottom, and west and east spell the word "we".... i.e. west is to the left, and east to the right; so once you know where north is, you can calculate east and west!

    2. Yes, so was I, Annie. I'm very supportive of this family AND their choice to homeschool, but it seems I'm noticing gaps more and more often. Perhaps she just was caught up in the fun and didn't thinks about it.

    3. I know, right? Then she wrote east on the top and put the stars to the left! Ouch! At least put the "E" where the stars are - even if you don't know which direction it is.

    4. Most likely she couldn't think straight under pressure.

  3. Wow. Alyssa doesn't know the directions?? That is an elementary school skill. I like the Bates and like that they appear slightly more with it than the Duggars. However, stop teaching your daughters how to do laundry and teach them more academics.
