  1. This means she's almost she's almost 21 weeks along!!!!! Good grief, she waited a long time. It's good for us now, we only have 19 weeks to wait for this blessed arrival of another baby girl. Congratulations!

    2. That might not be so... Zach and Whitney found out boys or girl really early and I just had a friend find out around 10-12 weeks! I didn't know till recently that it was possible to find out gender so early. I had to wait till 20 weeks.

    1. Well remember they are well known. I'm sure family knew but they just weren't ready to tell the world.

    3. Ww waited till we knew we were having a girl before we announced even being pregnant. Several miscarriages before and we didn't want to share till we really knew all was ok! We even waited a good while before telling any family.

  15. How exciting! A little scary with the zika virus though

    1. Rachael the Zika virus is only in the Miami area they don't live anywere near the Miami area. So Alyssa should be safe.

    2. They are not the ones who've been to central america!

      Delete
    3. Even though they're not that far away from Miami, I think she was pretty much done her first trimester by the time Zika was discovered there.

    4. I think any pregnant woman in Florida is probably nervous about Zika regardless of where they live in Florida. I have two girlfriends that live in Florida and are pregnant and are plenty nervous about mosquito bites.

    5. The Zika virus was area in Miami just tripled...it won't belong before all of Florida is at risk what with all the tropical storms/hurricanes blowing stuff around

    6. Have any of you even looked up a map of zika cases in the USA?? Its certainly much more spread within the usa and not just Florida! I encourage all to look up a map of zika cases within USA!

    1. I am sure you mean no harm, but as someone who was never able to conceive, I find your questions regarding Michaela to be out of line. If she wants to share private matters such as this, that's up to her. Perhaps they choose to wait to have children. Speculation from others is not helpful and satisfying your curiousity is not what is important. I dreaded to have people ask me when we were going to start a family. It hurt terribly.

    2. In one episode where Kelly and a couple of the girls visited them in Chicago, Michael and Brandon's apartment was tiny, so they may feel they are not yet in a position to have a child. And if Brandon has any further schooling to complete, perhaps their income doesn't support a child just yet. It really isn't anyone's business but their own and to speculate about her ability to conceive could be hurtful for them.

    3. Not everybody wants a baby. Different people want different things out of life. Also, if Michaela does want kids and is having trouble conceiving, she probably wants that kept private. What she does with her body is nobody's business but hers.

    4. Deb-Thanks for sharing. Michael & Brandon will begin a family by God's grace-let's not "dabble" into conception issues or add undo stress to their life. I hope you join me in prayer for the entire Bates(and extended Bates)family.

  21. Thinking back to the episode showing Allie Jane's birthday, Alyssa must have been pregnant then or right after. I just hope she didn't feel pressured because of all the questions about when they were having another. I think it is fine that they waited until after the first trimester. Most people in my neck of the woods do wait until then.

    2. Allie turned 1 on april 11 and they had their party earlier, so Alyssa definitely wasn't pregnant back then.

    3. As I said,..."or right after".

  24. It's so exciting! It's fun that there will be so many cousins to play with around the same age. I remember how fun it was with my cousins. I think John and Alyssa are the perfect parents to have two girls! Alyssa is such a sweet and pretty woman with amazing fashion sense - she totally deserves two girls to spoil and dress! I hope she does some matching outfits/dresses with the girls. I think that's so cute. Lily and Ellie, please give them our congratulations and blessings!

  25. Congratulations John and Allyssa on the arrival of your second daughter in January 2017. That's fantastic news!!!

  26. Allie is pretty but also quite a unique-looking child with that serious expression and at times vacant stare. I wonder who she gets her looks from?

    1. I was thinking the same thing. Sometimes I worry if there may be something more going on rather than her just being "serious."

      Delete
    2. She's definitely more reserved, not as exuberant as most her age, but that makes it all the more special when she does smile.

      Delete
  27. I am very happy for them. They are a very loving family and whether their kids are "perfect" or not they are gifts from God and he doesnt make mistakes.
