Bates #12 and #15 Turn 20 and 16

Between January 23rd and February 17th, a span of less than four weeks, the Bates family has a whopping 10 birthdays to celebrate, including two "double birthdays." The first double birthday was Trace and Jeb on February 1st, and the second is today. Jackson is turning 20, and Addallee is turning 16. Happy birthday to this brother-sister duo!

Nathan Bates Marries Esther Keyes

Another Bates wedding is in the books! Nathan Bates and Esther Keyes became husband and wife this afternoon, during a beautiful ceremony in picturesque Pennsylvania. Gil and Kelly Bates haven't attended a wedding since Carlin married Evan in May 2019, and they haven't watched a son tie the knot since Zach married Whitney in December 2013. 

Congratulations to the new Mr. and Mrs. Bates! No wedding photos have been released yet, but we will keep you in the loop.

Gender and Name of Baby Paine #5

It's the day before Nathan Bates' wedding, but Erin and Chad Paine took a few minutes out of their busy schedule to share the gender and name of their fifth child with the world. A New Mrs. Bates

It has been just over nine months since we first posted about Nathan's girlfriend, Esther Keyes. Viewers watched her meet the family on an episode of Bringing Up Bates that aired in April, and the pair was engaged on May 22nd. We shared the video clip from UPtv a month later. 

Now, Nathan and Esther are just a few days away from their wedding! Nathan will be the second Bates son to enter into marriage, which means that Gil and Kelly Bates will have two daughters-in-law and six (soon to be seven) sons-in-law.

A Wedding and a Birthday

Nathan Bates and Esther Keyes will be husband and wife in less than one week! The Bates clan and many others will be on their way to Esther's home state of Pennsylvania to watch the couple exchange their vows next weekend. Esther also celebrated her 24th birthday yesterday.

Bates Season 11 Premiere Date

 

Judson Bates and Jeb Bates

The UPtv network just announced the premiere date for Bringing Up Bates season 11. The Bates will return with new episodes on Thursday, February 10th, at 9pm ET/8pm CT!

By that point, Nathan Bates and Esther Keyes will be married, as will Katie Bates and Travis Clark, so there will be plenty of wedding footage to watch.

Bates #5 Turns 28

Happy 28th birthday to Nathan Bates! His full name is Kenneth Nathaniel Bates, which is fun fact that some of you might not know. He and Esther Keyes are looking forward to their wedding on October 22nd and just had a beautiful wedding shower at the Bates' church this Friday. They also picked out their wedding bands. Nathan recently returned from Haiti with MEDIC Corps and is now responding to Hurricane Ida in Louisiana.

Three of the Bates sons--Lawson, Nathan, and Trace--are currently in Haiti doing relief work, on the heels of a 7.2-magnitude earthquake. They are working as part of a team, which also includes John-David Duggar, from the organization MEDIC Corps. The death toll in Haiti is already up over 1,200, and a tropical depression is expected to cause further destruction in the next 24 hours. 

We know that these guys would appreciate prayer as they work to help the Haitian people.

Happy 29th birthday to Lawson Bates! This year, he happens to be on a vacation in Maui, Hawaii, with his girlfriend, Tiffany Espensen, and Tiffany's parents and older brother. Hope y'all have a wonderful trip.

As of Thursday, Bringing Up Bates is officially on break, following a season finale episode that featured Travis' proposal to Katie. Those of you who follow the Bates family closely know that Nathan announced his engagement to Esther at the end of May. Will fans have to wait until next season to see footage from his Florida proposal? Thankfully, the answer is no, as UPtv just released a video of the big moment. Now that Erin’s health is on the upswing, the Paine’s are tackling a new project: renovating an old camper. Will they decide to resell it or keep it in the family? At the Bates house, Gil, Kelly Jo, and some of the kids have a family meeting to discuss ideas for their upcoming I Love You Day party, but will they all agree on a theme? It’s moving day for the Bates Sisters Boutique! Whitney, Erin, and Carlin rely on their family to help them move out of their old workspace and into their new downtown Rocky Top location. Later, as Jackson and Trace are hanging out with Lawson and his dog Duke, Lawson updates his brothers on his new relationship and mentions his girlfriend will be attending the I Love You day festivities. Does this mean another Bates boy is leaving the bachelor squad?5!

Nathan's Leading Lady

In September, Nathan revealed during an episode of Bringing Up Bates that he had a special someone in his life. He continued on to say that he wasn't ready to share any details with the public. In another family-filmed episode, the Bates remain productive while maintaining social distancing guidelines during the pandemic. Kelly Jo is in project mode, so she leans on Lawson, Judson, and Jeb to help put together shelves for a new pantry. Meanwhile, Carlin, Whitney, and Erin discuss their online boutique over video chat and strategize how they can keep their business up and running in the midst of COVID-19, while Michaela chats with Brandon about the challenges of pursuing her nursing degree online instead of in the classroom.

September 10 at 9pm ET: Giving Thanks
Lawson, Nathan, and Trace spend time catching up and riding horses at the ranch, but Nathan is quickly in the hot seat when his brothers notice something interesting on his finger. Does he have news he wants to share? Meanwhile, every day has been an emotional roller coaster for first-time parents Carlin and Evan after learning that baby Layla has a small hole in her heart. More Babies Already?

Carlin's siblings hold Layla Stewart for the first time

On their way home from the hospital, Carlin and Evan Stewart stop by the "big house" to introduce Layla to the family. This is the first time that the entire Bates crew hasn't been able to visit a baby at the hospital. As her siblings cuddle the newest addition, Carlin states that she already wants more babies. Evan smiles and reminds her that they aren't trying to set any records, and Kelly offers some helpful advice.

In honor of the Bates' summer 2020 beach trip, which they took a couple weeks ago, we thought we would share a video from a past beach vacation. This one was two years ago in February, so the weather was not warm. And while no one else dared go swimming, Nathan broke out his wetsuit and dove into the waves.
