The 'Middle' Boys Visit Florida

As we learned on Thursday's episode, the Bates kids love visiting their married siblings. Whether they're up in Chicago with Michael and Brandon Keilen, down in Florida with Alyssa and John Webster, or just a few minutes away at the home of Zach and Whitney Bates or Erin and Chad Paine, there is always fun to be had.

The "middle" boys (Jackson Bates, Warden Bates, and Isaiah Bates) recently traveled down to Florida to spend time with the Websters.

  1. The Bates could be living in a number of states by the time they all are married!!! Could make travelling fun for them all!

  3. That is nice that every married couple hosts the younger siblings from time to time. It's not just Michael. What great role models they all are. And with home schooling, there is that flexibility to be able to go, and the visit can be treated like a school trip and be educational. If the kids were in organized sport though, they wouldn't be quite as flexible, or if they had part-time jobs.

  6. Where do these visitors sleep? Alyssa and John already have 3 children and themselves living in that home. I don't live far from Alyssa and I would think those boys are sweating bullets in those heavy long jeans and shirts. One has shorts on only. It's hot and steamy here and those clothes are not appropriate for Florida in July. Just wondering how they can stand the steamy heat dressed like that? I know, I can't. and I love God too.

    1. We live in hot south Alabama but my husband will Not wear short pants.Just guessing but being in a house with only 5 people they feel like they have plenty space. To be with family one can bunk down on the floor.

    2. They probably have more than two bedrooms. The little girls could all sleep together, or maybe the baby sleeps in Alyssa and John's room. Or maybe they have a pull-out couch, air mattress, etc. There are all kinds of ways to make it work.

    3. When I was a kid and went to visit ppl I didn't always get treated like royalty. Sometimes, I slept on the floor and it was really no big deal. Alyssa may keep her house cold. When I would go to my Aunt's she always kept the house freezing in the summer. It's not like she lives in a barn, 😉😂

    4. They are kids. Kids don’t care as much where they sleep. We don’t have extra beds. When my kids have friends overnight, they just sleep wherever... sleeping bags on the floor... the couch....a chair....

    5. Sleeping on the floor is the fun part of sleepovers!

    6. They could have set up two bunk beds in the lower level of the house (close to the laundry area), to accommodate four guests?

    3. Isaiah looks so like Kelly's Dad, that's where the genes have come down from.

    4. "GENES" - I looked much like my father's mother. . . .some Bates children are petite like Kelly's mother and some like her father Isaiah for sure) - others like Gil's parents. A true mix.
