Granny and Khloe

Kelly "Granny" Bates and Khloe Bates

Khloe Bats is 18 days old! As you can imagine, Zach and Whitney Bates and the rest of the Bates clan are enjoying all the newborn snuggles. Erin Paine is due with Holland Grace Paine in December, She delivered early with all three of her other babies, so it won't be long before you'll be reading another birth announcement.

  1. A bow like that would make me crazy. I can't imagine how uncomfortable it must be for a newborn. I think Khloe is beautiful without it.

    1. I don’t see the point of bows. Are they afraid that they’ll confuse them with boys? The horror 🙄

    2. Do you have sensory issues? I've never known a baby to have issues with a bow such as you describe

    3. She really looks uncomfortable doesn't she? I am weary of the comments about bows; to each his own. Let's not criticize mothers for a minuscule item; a bow.

    4. If there was even a chance she could possibly be a tiny bit uncomfortable, and there is, I would take it off.

    5. Would you stop with the complaining about bows! None of the baby’s cared, if they did they would cry, get over it.

    6. 9:36, bows are an accessory and some of us think they're cute. That is it.

    7. I agree with you, 12:18. The bow comments on both family blogs are so tedious.

    8. Why do bows bother so many? Just maybe they put them on right before the picture and take them off.A picture does not say a thousands words, it's only telling us a split fragment in ones lives✌❤

    9. Some people like them and some don't. I don't like them and would never put one on my child. Some of you are way too defensive about something that can be a hazard.

    10. I'm sure these babies do cry. Babies cry all the time. How would the parents know if it's the bow or not? Why take the chance that you are hurting your child for the sake of your vanity?

    11. It's not vanity. 🙄

    12. Lots of things can be hazards, but only if care is not taken. And if the baby is grabbing at their head while crying you can know if they are crying about a bow. Those thick, soft bows are basically like a hat without the crown. The mom can tell when she's putting it on the baby's head if it is tight, exactly the way you can tell if a hat is too tight. I think it's time to let the bow comments stop. Between the Duggar and Bates families there have been 7 baby girls this year, and we have had more than enough bow talk. Give it a rest and pick on something else for a while.

    1. It's not rocket science. It's a fun, cute accessory, the same as hair ornaments on girls of any age.

    2. What is the point of always complaining about it, exactly?

  6. The use of bows never seemed popular in Canada, and I always assumed they were a southern tradition. But, I am seeing them here now, with the younger generation. All of my daughter's friends who have baby girls use bows. Not huge bows, just a dainty bow.

  8. The bows are cute, but yeah, headbands give me a headache, so hope the baby bow/headbands aren’t too tight or uncomfortable. Also I’ve heard they can be a strangulation hazard, not to be negative, but this is true, as long as they don’t sleep overnight in them, like unattended in the headbands.

    1. The bows are soft, stretchy material. And yes, you should not leave a bow on when they are sleeping.

    2. I sure wouldn't want one wrapped around my head!

    3. 3:49, were you around in the 80s? Thick terry cloth headbands, especially if you were working out. 😄
