Bates/Stewart Wedding in 3 Days

Carlin Bates and Evan Stewart
Carlin Bates and Evan Stewart
August 2018 (just weeks before their engagement)

Bates wedding #7 is just three days away! Carlin Bates (soon to be Carlin Stewart) and Evan Stewart have waited eight months for their big day, and it's almost here. The two will become husband and wife this Saturday. If you haven't seen their wedding party list, you can look back at our April 3rd post. Carlin will have her two business partners, Erin Paine and Whitney Bates, as her matrons of honor, while Evan's best man will be his brother, Ethan Stewart.

Carlin just graduated from college and has been very busy working for Bates Sisters Boutique and painting the house that she and Evan will live in (stay tuned for house pictures).

My daughter is marrying a wonderful young man with a 12-letter Polish name! It'll be a challenge, lol!

    1. That's a picture from last summer before they got engaged. Carlin had blonde highlights for a while.

  7. It’s good they took their time with their engagement (still quick in most caes) instead of a two month rush like the Duggar’s tend to

    1. If someone is able to have a short engagement there’s nothing wrong with that.

  8. Hopefully all will go well. I would NEVER plan to have a wedding outside. For me it would be to windy, to hot, or to wet. But they are more relaxed than me. May God continue to bless them as a married couple.

    1. In an interview with a Knoxville, TN newspaper dated Jan. 3, 2019, Carlin said: "Evan is currently working as an electrician apprentice, which requires his commitment in Nashville. He is also very involved in his church and in his family’s singing ministry, which revolve around the Nashville area. I’m super excited about starting a home with him there, but I am also glad it’s still in Tennessee and very close to my family."

    2. I think mostly they Love the Lord.

    3. "singing ministry"?

    4. The Stewarts are a family gospel group. Similar to the Bontrager and Collingsworth families, the family travels to churches to sing and share their testimony.

    5. "which requires his committment in Nashville"? This sounds like a statement a publicist prepared on Carlin's behalf.

    6. I think a ministry to provide direct help to the homeless, convicts, low income families, children with disabilities. . . would go much further in helping the world. A singing ministry? I'm not sure how this helps others or if "ministry" is the correct word. Maybe "hobby"?

    7. God uses music to minister to people. Definitely can be considered a ministry.

    1. Patricia- Life is full of ups and downs, good times and bad. Following God does not give you immunity from life's challenges and heartaches. Implying that it does would possibly make someone feel they're to blame when bad things happen.

    2. Keeping your eyes on God rather than circumstances will help you to be "fine", as the op said. You can walk through heartache and pain and still come through it with inner peace and joy. I'm watching my mom do that very thing right now even in the loss of her husband.
