    1. We look forward to every episode of the Bates family, we first met the Bates family while watching the Dugger family. Everyone of the Bates are so sweet and so normal it's like we are right there with them. We had two children and we could not imagine having 19, two was a challenge. I did have six miscarrages so we almost had 8.. In any event please keep the Bates Family in our living room it dose are hearts good to see such a wonderful and loving family. And I am anxious to see all the new babies that are coming. We are in our mid to late 70,s. DO a whole hour it is only once a week, please.

    2. #1,2 and 3. I also first heard of the Bates family while watching the Duggar family. I enjoy watching because they are so loving, Godly with strong family values. It is so refreshing to see a family like this on TV. Also I like the hour long shows better.

    3. Love Bringing up Bates. Look forward to watching it every week. Also tape the shows and watch again. Found the show 8 years ago and rarely miss a week. Hope they continue the show until the grandkids get married.

  3. When the show airs, please stop saying it's an hour long. When it's only 30 minutes. My dvr records the full hour and to my surprise the last 30minutes is a show that I don't care for. It would be wonderful if you actually made the show an hour long. Thank you for your time.

    1. Agree 100%. Either make it 30 minutes of Bates family or 60 minutes of Bates family! Don’t call it an hour show when obviously it’s not.

    2. I agree with this! So irritating to realize ive recorded another show i didnt want to watch. Wish the Bates were really on for an hour. I love this show!!

    3. I've been complaining about this for several seasons. This is UP TV (has nothing to do with the Bates) willingly being deceitful and getting false ratings for the other show. This is dishonest, ungodly and bad business. Obviously, UP TV does not care though because they continue to give the false showings to the cable guide.

    4. Update the intro. A nice way to show everyone and their families. My suggestion is to have each kid come out with a family food. Like their setting dinner, and have then gather around a dinning room table. This way you can see the entire family, their kids and it's updated.

    5. I enjoy watching the Bates because they represent what a real Christian family that cares about each other and have a good time together. I wasn't able to have a large family, I had to quit after three, but it would have been nice to have a few more. The Mom and Dad have a good relationship with each other and with each of the kids. Nothing unchristian about their relationships with each other and others outside their family. It is absolutely the perfect family representative of what a Christian family should be! Keep it up Bates!

  4. It would be nice if the show was actually an hour, and not the last 30 minutes some other show. My dvr records the full hour and I have to fast forward thru the last 30 minutes because I don't care for the show. I do believe it was misleading the viewers when showing on the guide as an hour. It would be nice if fhey showed the other show on the guide. I would like to watch 60 shows of the Bates family. Thank you

    1. I like everything about the Bates Family. I wish their show was an hour long like it use to be. There is not enough show just in 30 minutes. It is wonderful, family entertainment. Great show. I love all the kids, grandkids and their boy friends and girlfriends. Great.

  5. Oh my goodness! I love all of these ideas! But I think #3 is my favorite. I would love to hear updates from the family about what is going on in their lives. I loved the video where Alyssa gave us a tour of their house. It was nice to see them just doing real life and the girls were running around and talking too.

  6. Weekly family updates would be nice. Less commercials would also be nice. Don't show a 30 second clip of the show after commercials and then air more commercials. We want to see more of the family and less commercials.

  7. I would like to see more weekly check ins and I like the fun features.I don't like when they show scenes from the episodes, because that ruins upcoming episodes for me.

  8. Extended scenes hands down! We are family friends and attend parties and weddings. There's so much y'all don't see of the events and especially weddings and wayy too much red couch and voice overs.

  14. I would love to watch Bringing Up Bates but UPTV has never made their network available to any Canadian TV service provider, to make the show available to Canadian fans. I, as a Canadian, rely on your blog Ellie to keep up-to-date with this wonderful family. We cannot access the show through our cable providers, our satellite providers, or online, or even purchase it online. We are locked out. We can only watch when UPTV releases those first three episodes from each season.
    Please UPTV, come to Canada!

  19. The Bates Family is fun to watch even if they’re singing the alphabet 😄!! Honestly, my only disappointment is that the show is over so quickly!! I would love to see it lengthened to an hour long show!! It would also be fun to see more of the area where they live, and maybe a little more information about their church. My husband and I can never get enough of the Bates Family - we look forward to the show every week, and are so bummed If it isn’t on!! They are such a faithful, fun-loving family! It is one show that leaves you feeling happy and blessed after watching it!! We love the Bates’!

  20. First, for those who subscribe to UPTV through Amazon, it doesn't seem right that it takes so long to upload episodes when we can see that they are out there for a long time. Isn't this the point of subscribing to UPTV?

#1 doesn't make sense to me - when we watch the show we are watching scenes from the episodes, so I am not understanding this question.

#2 Extended scenes - yes - this would be great.

    #3 Weekly “check-in” videos - yes

#4 Fun features - No - some of this is okay but it feels too staged and not really normal life. There is already a lot of this in the show or in videos posted to the UPTV website. For example, the whisper challenges just seem kind of silly.

#5 Other - just show more "real" life that normal people can relate to. So many trips and extravagant/staged events are not real life for most people. Certainly weddings/babies are real life but the events surrounding these (over the top gender reveals, courtship or engagements, etc.) are no longer relatable to the average person. It is always nice to see good values on tv even if the show never changed. However,it would be nice to see the ins and outs of everyday life. The challenge of reality television is that the reality that the audience tuned in to see in the beginning quickly no longer becomes the reality for the family due to becoming prosperous from the show (good for them - truly!!) and staging of events. I am a mom of 3, homeschooling 2 (one in college). There is no way I could homeschool even my 2 remaining and take care of my family/home/business while doing trips and events to the extent that they do. How on earth do they take care of schooling and home? Does their tree business even matter anymore? What are their everyday schedules like with many people going in different directions? How soon do the kids start driving on their own to Crown college? How do Kelly and Gil deal with adult teenagers in the house - i.e. rules/expectations, etc. When they first start going out on their own for college/jobs - how did they handle that with driving and just their parental fears and emotions? This is the stuff of everyday real life.

I love the show and love the Bates but I am tired of seeing unrealistic portrayals on a reality show.

    3. We were traveling and met the Bates because we stayed at a hotel near their home where they held church services. This was b4 BUB and we didn't have a TV so didn't know of them being on the duggars show.
So many of the kids and others welcomed us and after service Gil and Kelly talked with us a long time. We easily became family friends and fell in love with the area so much that we settled there! They were busy even then with so many kids and life in general.
Yes, life has definitely changed for them but they still have such big hearts for people. That hasn't changed.

I pick 5 other content ideas. I know it's a family channel. But I would like for the Bates family. To talk about how they feel about the LGBTQ community. Up TV should bring this idea to the producers & ask the family if they like the idea.

    2. I like the episodes that feature the Bates going on outings/road trips together as a family. Neat to see how everyone enjoys each other. I love children however, it seems the show is concentrating more and more on the older ones. My favorite episodes feature the little ones. The quirky comments that Jeb, Judson and Callie make and their expressions are hysterical!!! Haaa!

      Delete
    3. Neddy- The Bates are fundamentalist Baptists. They'd likely tell you that they don't approve of the LGBTQ lifestyle or gay marriage because they think it's a sin. I doubt they would use their show as a forum for expressing their stance on the issue, as it's such a controversial topic.

    1. As long as it remains “unseen footage.” The format of 30 minutes while short keeps us wanting more and not full of a :30-1min narrative of what was just shown prior to a commercial break, this format is cumbersome to the viewer.

Or that it simply shows footage that has already aired.

Example: child X is getting married, courting, preggo, or about to give birth. We don’t need a whole show dedicated to each previous event of each child. The editors at Counting On did this ( or still do, stopped viewing as a result) and it’s just filler.

Keep it fresh and it will remain on air. Show circumstances viewers can relate to. Just my two cents 👍

  59. thank you for asking uptv!!
more of everything listed 1 thru 4
for #5, my suggestion is for the filming, which may or may not make it online: i love seeing the 'real' stuff. not really 'bloopers' but rather everyday things. like if one of the little kids walks in front of the couple on the couch, or says something funny. don't take that out!! no need for a retake. that's one of the reasons the bates resonate with so many of us. they are real people with real situations similar to ours. (i remember bradley walking in front of the camera and whitney laughing at his timing and i thought 'yes! real life!' and was so happy you (uptv) showed this)
oh, and make it a hour long show!

  60. I would love to see updates on their lives, what they are studying in school, family parties, road trips, how the babies are doing, how the remaining kids at home are doing, Michael's plans, Trace's plans, Katie's plans, what is Nathan up to, how is MeeMaw doing, how is the church building coming along, how is Alyssa doing, and how are the youngest of the Bates kids doing?

  61. 4 weekly checkin videos

  62. Ok posting again as I did early this afternoon and it's not here :(

We're family friends so attend all parties and weddings. I vote for extended scenes because so much reality gets left out due to couch talk and voice overs. Viewers are missing so much.
    As in Josie's
wedding episode too many days of lead up in a 1hr episode took time away from her wedding day. Viewers missed many precious moments.

1 hr would be great for all episodes as that seems to be the general consensus.

  71. I would like to see more actual reality instead of the highly staged shows such as the courtship and engagement style of the last several relationships. I love the spontaneity of the Thanksgiving shows, I love you day shows and Dollywood, vacations, etc and I enjoy seeing the kids being kids. I also wish it were an hour and available to more folks who right now can not watch it. This is one family show that really is for families. It’s the best show on tv and so many are missing out. The Bates family and UP do a great job. I thank you both for all of your efforts that go unseen by the viewers.

  73. Two things: no.3 line I have trouble hearing them speaking needs better acoustics. It sounds like an empty room with the echoing. Secondly show a picture after the birth of baby what the family looks like at the week of show. So many changes do happen.

    ReplyDelete
  74. When the preshow comments were in the car with Lawson and Kelly jo it was easy to hear and understand. Just check the difference. I love all the comments made by each of the family members.

    ReplyDelete
  75. I think a definite improvement might be just telling us the truth about more things. For example: Where is Nathan these days? Is he living at Big Sandy or where? Why is it a secret? What is happening with the tree business and Lawson's lawn business? Just seems we were allowed to know some things about their lives but then they were not explained later. We are the fans and we are faithful and loyal. Trust us with the real stories. We are hoping UPTV will expand the show to one hour. It is our #1 show on TV. Thanks for letting us voice our opinions. Can't wait to see Carlin's wedding. :)

I like the shows with the older kids and the married kids who some have their own kids versus I don't care so much when it's at the parents house and involves the little kids doing mundane stuff. 80. I would like extended scenes and for the show to be an hour long.

    ReplyDelete
  81. I would like to see scenes from episodes and extended scenes as I live out of the USA and don't have an affordable way to watch the show, so the scenes are all I can get. I love seeing the bits that I can!

    ReplyDelete
  82. #3 Weekly check-ins for sure!

    ReplyDelete
  83. I would suggest that UP not advertise the episodes as an hour long, such as in the cable TV guide, but then make it a half hour and put another show following it I the final half hour.

    ReplyDelete
  84. I love the clips they have of the family playing the game with the white board where they have to answer a question.

    ReplyDelete
  85. 1, 2 and 3. I would enjoy 3 a lot.

    ReplyDelete
  86. I love all those ideas and I would love it if the Bates and Duggars could be on together again

    ReplyDelete
  87. Number 2, because the episodes are so short!

    ReplyDelete
  88. Thanks for asking ! We are frustrated not be able to see the show here in E.U

    ReplyDelete
  89. I agree with others—give us hour long episodes!
Half hour is so short and I love to hear what is going on in their lives. Each family member is a joy to hear from. They live the love of Christ and it is what our world needs to see more of!

    ReplyDelete
  90. I love seeing the little bits of scene included in the commercials. I wish the show was an hour instead of 30 min. I vote for extended scenes.

    ReplyDelete
  91. I agree about the show being a hour long would be the most wanted content. Number 2 3 4 would all be great online content. Brandon and Michael, Zach and Whitney, Chad and Erin, Alyssa (who cracks me up whlen she's on and John, are not even getting 15 mins of Fame at any given time.

    ReplyDelete
  92. Extended scenes and checking in on each of the married couples more often.

    ReplyDelete
  93. 2 and 3. Also, can the end of the episodes not be so abrupt? It's kind of strange that it just stops.

    ReplyDelete
  94. Extended scenes! And more episodes!
I would also like to be able to purchase all episodes- even the specials. Not everyone gets cable or satellite TV, and not all cable companies carry UPTV.

    ReplyDelete
  95. When the show airs, it's only 30 minutes. My dvr also records the full hour I want a full hour PLEASE. I vote for extended scenes, I don't want to wait forever to see Carlin and Evan's Wedding, I would like to see at least a clip and not wait till December to see it.

  96. HOUR LONG EPISDOES OF THE BATES ONLY NOT PRELUDES INTO OTHER SHOWS. HOUR LONG EPISODES OF THE BATES FAMILY.

    ReplyDelete
  97. HEY I KNOW, make it available for Canadians'?????? We LOVE the Bates tooo!!!!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  98. Hello, UPTV! Have you read all of these comments? There are an enormous amount of viewers fed up with you advertising BUB for 1 hour, but only showing 30 minutes and the other 30 minutes of a different show - that nobody wants to see. We know that you are doing this on purpose - and it is not right. Why is it ok with you to be dishonest and have false ratings? Please correct this immediately. BTW, I will be checking back to see if my comment posts. It might sound harsh to some, but it is the truth. Nothing said was distasteful. Seriously, UP, you need to fix this issue - now.

  99. Have more shows about the other kids that are not engaged, getting married, or pregnant. There are other kids!!! Also stop the coming up next...the repeation of early reality shows is so 1990s. Your show seems like 15 mins of new content.

    ReplyDelete
  100. 1 through 4. Also extend it to an hour.

    ReplyDelete
  101. Stream live on UpTV instead of In Demand on Sling!

    ReplyDelete
  102. Yes, stop saying it an hour episode when it is only 30 minutes.

    ReplyDelete
  103. All of them and thank y'all for sharing your lives with us. It's nice to have shows that are positive and no crude language

  104. I've been watching Bringing Up Bates since day one. I love the family and watching the show is my highlight for the week. I wish the show was 1 hour. More Bates please.

    ReplyDelete
  105. A full 60 minute show would be wonderful!! Plus #2 would be my choice. I dvr the show every week! Thanks for the show.

  106. Extended scenes. Would like it to go back to an hour. Love the show.

  107. I love this family and would enjoy more episodes than just once a week. The are so living and giving that I feel inspired and uplifted every time I watch them. God bless them everyone!!!

    ReplyDelete
  108. I would like to see longer episodes instead of just a half hour, an hour each week. My two teenage daughters and I watch it together every week and it goes so quickly! We would love to see longer episodes.

  109. Love the show, Love the family and and wish you would put Heartland, Counting on back on .

  110. Number 3, but all them would be fine. I have been watching the Bates family since the beginning and I love their. Sometimes it just too short. Their family values and their faith are so refreshing to watch in their everyday lives. They live their faith. Love the show.

  111. Hello Bates Family I hope you are all healthy and doing well. I love your show and have been watching it for along time. I absolutely love it all you are such an inspiration. Kelly you are a wonderful Mother and Granny. I hope you will be able to continue the show in spite of wats going on in the world. Thank you.

  112. We have been watching the Bates since they appeared with the Duggar family. I agree with the one hour show versus just thirty minutes. The coming up next is repetitive. The show really is just around 20 minutes. The family is inspiring and fun to watch. I would love to see more day to day family time like home schooling, dinners smaller kids and how their family adapts to life's challenges. Thank you UPtv for showcasing this wonderful family.

  113. I love the show and love the Bates would love to see one hour shows they are very uplifting more Bates.

  114. I like all the ideas. I have been watching since they started. My only complaint is there aren't enough episodes. So rare to find a show people of all ages can enjoy. They are an inspiration especially in the world we live in today. Please continue this show for years to come.

    ReplyDelete
  115. Definitely 3, but also #2. This family is a blessing and inspiration.

    ReplyDelete
  116. We been watching since day one and love the family, love how we feel like a part of the family when watching. Please keep making this show. We lost the channel for about a year when we changed providers but signed up to watch online which brought us back like a lost family member, God Bless!

    ReplyDelete
  117. I love this show!! It's definitely family entertainment and I've enjoyed seeing all the kids grow up and start families of their own. My only suggestion is to make the show an hour long....the half hour just goes by way too fast and I often feel a little shortchanged. With all the garbage on TV and Corona overload, I think your viewers would love to sit for an hour and enjoy the Bates family!!

    ReplyDelete
  118. Love this show Keeping up with the whole family keeps me watching.

    ReplyDelete
  119. I want MORE Bates however I can get it, but would really love to see longer episodes. I look forward to this show each week. It brings me joy to watch the family and encouragement in my everyday life. Please, please give us MORE!!!!

  121. Love the show and the family. Would love longer episodes getting to better know each family member. They are so sweet, silly and family oriented.
As with other similar shows it’s ok with me that they keep certain opinions to themselves.

  122. The best part of my week is Thursday Nights watching Bates. I love this show.

  127. I enjoy BUB. A lot. But my cable bill just went up again to $300. It is costing me an additional $150 PER MONTH to keep UpTV in my package. Otherwise I can negotiate a new deal, keeping all of the other channels for well under $200. As much as I enjoy the show, I cannot continue at this cost. Goodbye UpTV.

    ReplyDelete
  128. Bringing up Bates is my favorite show. I enjoy the kind ways that they relate to each other and encourage others. They have a fun wise way of doing life. I pray richest blessings over each one of them.

  129. This show inspired us with devotion to family, each other, their children, their willingness to work hard to get what you want. Like Michael at nursing or the girls with their clothing line. That whatever you could imagine yourself doing!! You could do it!! You just had to dream it and make a plan!! They inspire us each episode and it’s so rare tk find a good family show anymore. Even hallmark is making many changes. Please review bring Hong the back!! It even says jn your viewers feedback!! Basically to enjoy a night with Bringing Up Bates!! But now we can’t! I also love that the guys aren’t afraid of trying things or changing careers like Zach if it’s better for his family!!! He is willing to work hard. I love watching Erin and Chad!! The laidback calm sweet thoughtful demeanor of that man is an inspiration to all!!!please bringing back the show!!! Please
