Full One + One Music Video

Lawson Bates and Oliva Collingsworth

It's here! The official music video for Lawson's new single "One + One" has just been released, and you can watch it below. The video features Lawson, Carlin, Evan, and gospel singer Olivia Collingsworth. Olivia is a friend of both the Duggars and the Bates, and she sang the song "Holy Ground" during John-David Duggar and Abbie Burnett's ceremony last November. But before you start thinking that Lawson and Olivia should get together, we should mention that Olivia has a boyfriend.

  5. Ha! Gil would be happy if Carlin actually used Josie's dress for her wedding. He wondered why the girls each had to get a new dress!

It seems strange to me after attending Josie's wedding, I see it only as Josie's dress.
They could have used a dress from a thrift store, borrowed a sample dress from a bridal shop, anything but Josie's special dress.

But that's simply how kind, generous and easy going she is.
I hope as they show her in her new roles that the viewers will see the very special young lady our family has known and loves :)

    1. I don't see why it's a big deal. They aren't harming the dress. I don't think it's preferable for the dress to sit in the closet.

    2. Hardly a big deal. It saves money for one thing, next it is a stunning dress. It being Josie's they would have asked her permission, she obviously didn't mind so why should anyone else?

    3. It's good not to make an idol out of wedding dresses. It's just a dress. I'm sure there are some sentimental memories attached to it, but that's it. A truly godly act would be to donate these fancy dresses to a thrift shop for women who can't afford their dream dress. There are shops designed just for such women.

    4. The OP is obviously friends of the Bates family. Read the 3rd paragraph. OP simply stating their opinion. Not a big deal.
Oh and every year of our 10 yr marriage I have taken my dress out of the closet for anniversaries, Valentine's day and "just because" days to wear a bit for my husband. It recenters us in our busy lives. I recommend it... even when you can't close the back during multiple pregnancies lol

    5. I don't wonder why each girl needs her own dress. But I do wonder why the Bates girls devote such an extraordinary amount of their energy on things like dresses, venues, decoration, etc. They are smart and godly girls! They could be making a real difference in the world by helping others through volunteer or charity work (if they did such things, I am sure UP would show it)

    6. I'm not sure why you think they spend an extraordinary amount of time planning for their weddings, any more than the average bride.

    7. Great Video! My grandfather paid for my wedding dress and 4 years later my sister wore it for her wedding... Jane

    8. I wore my grandmother's wedding gown. I remember as a girl watching her carefully unfold it, wrapped in cloth,in her cedar chest from time to time and letting me play a bit of dress up! I always knew no other dress could touch my heart. For me it was perfect!

  19. I think the song is beautiful but I don’t actually understand it. What is the “three” referring to?

    1. The three strand cord which is first line of the second verse he sings is from Ecclesiastes 4:12 in the Bible. As a believing couple, God is the third strand strengthening the relationship.

  20. Love the alto, Oliva! I was so hoping though to hear your song in the John David and Abbie’s wedding episode but alas they didn’t put it in. Why not???? 😩😢 what’s wrong with TLC that they can’t include a little of everything?

    1. Since the Bates and the Duggars work with separate tv stations they aren’t allowed to appear on each others shows due to contracts.
