Kaci Lynn's 1-Year Photo Shoot

Another Bates grandchild is approaching her one-year milestone, which means it's time for a photo shoot and cake smash! Zach and Whitney Bates took Kaci Lynn Bates to Taryn Yager's at-home studio and had some beautiful pictures made. Kaci turns one next Tuesday.

    1. I normally hate the big bows that they put on their baby girls, they look ridiculous(this ones like a lily pad), but she has such a pretty little face it doesn't really matter in these pictures.

    2. I think it's better to think of them as hats. They're big enough to be and when I think of them that way they don't seem ridiculous. Having said that though, if I were fortunate enough to be blessed with a sweet baby girl I would probably unashamedly dress her in the frilliest clothing I could find. Babies are beautiful no matter what their parents dress them in but they're only tiny baby dolls once!

    3. To all the people complaining about bows -- think of them as a fascinator, like they wear in England.

  12. Why do babies need their toe nails painted? Why would you do that when that's something they still might stick in their mouths?

    1. I think painted nails on babies are a little odd as well but to each their own. They do make special polish for babies that is non toxic and is okay if put in their mouth.

  15. They are such a cute family and so photogenic. I only wish the photographer would stop using that much photoshop. It makes them look a bit lifeless, more like plastic. But they seem to like it (if not they would have asked her stop) so it is not my problem.

  16. I agree about those way too big hair bows. Wow, these people sure do spend a lot of money on professional photographs don't they? What happened to taking pictures yourself? I have some very nice photos of my children that we took ourselves. Who takes professional Easter pictures? Whit and Zach did, but how can they pay for these so often?

    1. Probably getting them for free since it is great publicity for the photographer. And he has a job. And they get paid for their show.

    2. I wonder the same thing about all the professional photos. It's not my cup of tea.

  17. Adorable! It's not my business but I hope they wait a while if they are going to have more babies. It seems they barely have time to enjoy each stage of life before the next one starts.
