Bates Around the World: Erin and Whitney

"To me it looks like a dead frog, and if it tastes like that, I'm going to throw up."
-Erin Bates Paine

Are you enjoying the new Bates Around the World video series? In this clip, sisters-in-law Erin Paine and Whitney Bates try candies from Mexico, Finland, the United Kingdom, and China...and their reactions are priceless. Have you had any of the treats that they are sampling?

  2. These two are funny. The british sweets are called flying saucers, the outside is rice paper so is pretty tasteless but inside is fizzy sherbert powder, I was always disappointed with them as a child but would manage to eat them anyway lol. The salted liquorice is a finnish fave. I have tried it once and nearly threw up, I let my work collegues try them and got a similar reaction, Finland can keep it!

    3. I went back and listened again and she says something that could be her saing god after trying the liquorice but I don't know how you can tell it bothered Erin as the camera wasn't on her at the time.

    4. Are you for real? I couldn't see that Erin was bothered. I certainly am not.

    5. I'm not sure what the word "bansnin" you are using is, but she did not use the Lord's (notice I capitalized it, as it should be) name in vain.

    8. Chad and Jess- You lost respect for Whitney because she might have said "God"? What about, "He who is without sin, cast the first stone."?

    1. Alyson I didn't take that Erin was annoyed from either clip, infact in the candy tasting clip I loved their interaction, they seem to be really good friends. Just goes to show two people can watch the same clip and come away with totally different impressions.

  5. I watched and she clearly said God's name in vain. Very offensive.

  6. Whitney said "Guys" not "God". She was directing that toward the producers, telling them that it was horrible.

  7. To enjoy the full glory of a flying saucer you have to eat it whole! It's all about how it goes when you put the whole thing in your mouth ;)
