Lawn Care, Campouts, and Music

This Thursday on Bringing Up Bates, Lawson gives his sisters a crash course on running his lawn care business so he can spend more time advancing his budding music career (preview video below). Later, Jackson, Warden, and Isaiah go on a campout, while Lawson heads to Nashville to perform a big gig.

  1. I am truly not trying to be critical, but why do the Bates continue to think its funny to show themselves being reckless and dangerous? They are not children, but grown adults. That was somebody's yard Tori?? was destroying on that lawn mower. Now I understand because it's a reality tv series that they "ham it up" but in true reality people would lose their jobs and have to pay restitution for damages done. It would be nice to see these adults "kids" grow up and mature...to take a job seriously and show honest responsibility. Once again it's just play time for the Bates, which I guess comes from having so much money they truly are not concerened about real work.

  2. Oh great, the negative commenters have found their way from the Duggars blog to the Bates blog. *sigh*

    1. @12:27. I didn't find the original poster to be negative. In fact I thought he/she said the truth in a respectful manner. The Bates have joked themselves on several episodes that they aren't hard workers. They say they start projects and then others finish them. Although that can make for some funny TV I have thought myself enough! When are they going to grow up and show some maturity and responsibility? So many people want to emulate this family. They falsely believe it's just one big party ( reality TV show) to raise and provide for 19 children. We in the "real world" know this to be untrue. It would be nice to see them once in awhile doing something like habitat for humanity or visiting a nursing home...anything other than just silly antics all the time!

    2. They seem to be doing just fine raising and providing for 19 kids. And they have fun doing it! I know very few people in the "real world" who have done better. And don't you remember Lawson going to visit the little cancer patient at the hospital? If they showed all sorts of charitable things they do, people would complain about them bragging and say things like that should be done anonymously.

  3. It's kind of a shame that the Bates women were set up to look ridiculous with the lawn mowing. My husband and I share this job because we have so much grass to cut. I learned many years ago how to operate our commercial lawn mower. I cringed watching this clip because it seemed as though safety and doing a good job was taking a back seat.
