  2. Why would anyone stick their tongues out in a wedding picture?

    1. That's the silly picture. The photographer tells everyone to make a goofy face. I have one from my wedding 18 years ago.

    2. I feel like this is something my grandmother would say:)

    3. We were married 19 years ago, and our photographer had us do a silly picture.

  3. MO- I haven't been watching the show lately, just reading this Blog. I won't be tuning in tonight either. This wedding happened a long time ago, I already know it was "over the top" thanks to UPTV. Not the show it once was... The break will be good for me. :o)

    1. Carlin looks like she is trying so desperately to be glamorous.

    2. Well, you're going to miss a beautiful wedding! Definitely not "over the top"

    3. 6:07, no cattiness necessary. Carlin was a gorgeous bride.

  4. The Bates are the same down to earth family they have always been. Being blessed by sharing their lives on UPTV has allowed them the opportunity to receive more in their lives by sponsors. They are still the same gracious family. I’m looking forward to watching this evening’s episode and thankful I’m able to watch to young people in love marry.

  5. Maybe their lives just got too busy to have anymore episodes, and their home too difficult to keep up without the older kids living at home.
We saw very little of their home, the Webster’s, or Michaela and Brandon and the older boys. I hope we will get to see a Thanksgiving show in the new year. I will miss the show.

  6. The wedding venue was lovely but in my opinion it would have been more elegant in air conditioning. I remember how hot it was. It is a wonder that people were not passing out.

    1. There was plenty of water everywhere for guests and shade and an air conditioned barn available for anyone who needed it. When they chose the venue, they had no idea that it would be so hot in May in TN. Once the wedding got underway, we forgot about the heat and enjoyed the ceremony. We're from SC, so maybe our family was more acclimated to the heat. The wedding was very elegant, heat or not.

  7. I enjoy watching the Bates but I am sick of seeing every advertisement and clip and scenes of Carlin wedding. You can run a good thing into the ground!! It’s over with , move on people!!!!!!!!!

    1. I know! Why is Carlin's wedding marketed so intensively? Perhaps she is more willing than the others to participate in advertisements? I think when you grow up in a family of 19, you may be so hungry for attention you just take it whenever you can.
