Wedding Dress Shopping with Carlin

Carlin Bates wedding dress shopping
Katie Bates, Brittany Randolph, Kelly Bates, Josie Bates Balka,
Whitney Bates, Carlin Bates, Erin Bates Paine, Everly Paine
Ashley Sparkman, Tori Bates Smith, Kade Smith, Meagan Stewart, Denese Stewart
Missing: Evan's sister Kailyn, who was sick

Carlin has her wedding dress! She and Evan are counting down the days until their May 25th nuptials, and they just checked a big item off the to-do list. Carlin gathered at The Bride Room in Nashville with her female relatives and relatives-to-be to choose her gown, which is from the Italian designer Nicole Spose. When it comes to wedding dresses, the Bates sisters all have their own unique styles. What type of gown do you think Carlin has chosen?

While they were in Nashville, the group also enjoyed some time at Top Golf with Lawson and Evan.

  1. Ooo very nice. Nicole Spose has a lot of princess dresses and very form fitting styles in their collection. Hard to say what Carlin will go for but I think there will be a lot of modesty alterations.

    1. Yeah I checked the company’s instagram and there weren’t modest options, so u think she’ll definitely alter it. Personally, I like an already modest dress, like Jessa Duggar’s or the custom ones the Duggar and Bates girls have gotten. I think modestly alterations sometimes don’t look quite righ, like in Erin or Jill’s dress

It does matter what kind of dress it is because at the end of the day she will look like a beautiful bride.

  6. My guess is a princess dress & I hope her bridesmaids are in some shade of green - goes so nice with Spring flowers. We'll see soon enough.

  8. MO- I've never seen any in-laws dress shop with the Bates girls. (except for Whitney of course). Maybe the Stewart family has been included more in the show because of their singing group?? It's so nice for the mother of the groom to be included in the wedding preparations, even if they live out-of-state. (I'm sure they'd make arrangements to attend if asked) Written by a mother of 2 adult sons!! haha- :o)

    1. Evan's family lives in Nashville. None of the other in-laws are local.

    2. I am also a two time MOG. My oldest DIL invited me to go along for her second shopping trip. She had already chosen a dress but had not purchased it. She almost changed her mind for a dress I convinced her to try on.
If only I could have done something about the awful brown color of the bridesmaid dresses.

    3. 12:50. Why end your post so unkindly? I just don’t understand. Your DIL obviously wanted brown for her bridesmaids. I’m sure it was lovely.

    4. I guess I was a very boring bride. I brought only my best friend along on my dress shopping excursion- having a bunch of people along all sharing opinions would've sent me over the edge. I went to one bridal shop and had something picked out off the rack in under an hour.

    5. Kelton's mother is deceased and his sister is much younger. All of the other currently married Bates girls have in-laws who live in other states. Kelton and Evan are the only ones from Tennessee.

  11. It’s fun to see the different types of dresses the girls choose. I really like the look Josie went for with her wedding. Evan and Carlin both have outspoken personalities so I can’t wait to see how that reflects in their wedding design!

  16. I wonder why they don't disclose the cost of those wedding dresses AND any additional airfare to the designer's showroom? I would like to know what price range these girls' wedding gown are in. My wedding dress was purchased at a local thrift store, just like new, and was $25.00. It was a designer wedding dress BTW. I don't usually shop at thrift stores; I purchase my clothing new but this was a good deal. Why do they promote their thrift store lifestyle with used shoes and all, but when it comes to a wedding gown, it's personal designer attention all the way?
This is a far cry from the way those real 'not on TV' fundamentalist families live. Remember Ester and Anna Keller's wedding gown? A home-sewn white t-shirt with a white sheet wrapped around the waist. Homemade and PLAIN all the way.
I'm not knocking the Kellers for this, this is to point out that THIS IS the norm for not on TV mega families. Get real, UP and TLC with what you show.

    1. This is real. It used to be considered rude to ask how much someone paid for something, and it would never occur to me to do so. And no need to insult the Keller girls' dresses.

    2. I wonder if any of the brides, Bates or Duggars, have ever thought of wearing a sister’s dress? My sister wore mine with a couple of alterations. Saved a chunk of $$

    3. She's saying that most fundamentalist families live in the simple way the Kellers did, finding happiness in things like home-sewn gowns.

    4. The family do not need reveal costs. That is none of your business even though the wedding and planning is shown on TV. They can obviously afford it. If they want to spend a significant amount of money on their wedding dress then that is their choice and they have every right to choose it. Personally for me I'd be happy getting married in some smart casual clothes at the registry office with no guests but that's me and others have a right to do what they want. Also by what the older girls post most of their clothes are no longer from thrift stores. If they can afford it then it really is up to them.

    5. It's possible that they get a deal because the designer/shop gets publicity from the show. Plus with so many kids in the family there's a good chance the next one will give you their business. It's not unusual for businesses to give someone a discount for sending them more customers.

  17. Evan's mother is an absolutely stunning woman!

  18. I loved the wedding pics I've seen online and social media so far! Does anyone know where the bridesmaids dresses were purchased? My oldest daughter is in a wedding in the fall and all of the girls get to pick their own dresses as long as its a specific color. I offered to help her select a dress but we haven't found any she likes til now! Thanks!
