Welcome Baby Weston

Tori and Bobby Smith welcomed their fifth child! Weston Slade Smith was born May 29, 2024, weighing 6 lbs 9 oz. Weston joins four older siblings--Kade Smith (five), Kolter Smith (four), Charlotte Smith (three in June), and Cambree Smith (two in August).

Kolter Turns 2

Kolter Smith turned two years old yesterday. The Bates already have three grandchildren birthdays to celebrate at the end of March (Kolter, Zoey, and Everly). If Carlin delivers her son before the end of the month, that will be a fourth.

Celebrating Alyssa and Kade

Today is the fifth and final "double Bates birthday" of the year. That's right, the Bates have five shared birthdays annually. That means that about 20 percent of the Bates family members have a birthday buddy. Talk about low odds! So who are they celebrating today? Alyssa Webster is turning 27, and Kade Smith is turning three. Happy birthday to Alyssa and Kade!

With the arrival of Charlotte in June, the Smiths became a family of five. Until Kade turns three next month, Tori and Bobby will be the busy parents of three children ages two and under. Tori and Bobby might just be following in Gil and Kelly's footsteps, although their little ones aren't quite as close in age as Zach, Michael, and Erin. We just love this shot by Taryn Yager.

Have you heard the exciting news? Tori and Bobby Smith are expecting a baby! This little one will be their 3rd child and Gil and Kelly Bates' 18th grandchild. Charlotte Raine Smith is due in June 2021. She will be joined by two other Bates cousins also due in June, whose genders have not yet been shared. Almost three years ago, Tori and Bobby Smith found out they were expecting their first child, who would be named Kade Smith. In this throwback scene from Bringing Up Bates, the newly expectant Tori shares how unprepared she is when it comes to pregnancy. Thankfully, she has her mom and older sisters to tell her all the things. 

Meanwhile, Carlin, Josie, and Katie (ages 19, 18, and 17) discuss motherhood as if it's light-years away. Now, only three years later, two of them are mommies and one is in a serious relationship. Things sure do change quickly!

Isaiah's Golden Birthday

Happy birthday to Isaiah! He's turning 16 on the 16th, which means it's both his golden birthday and his sweet 16. Between birthdays and an anniversary, the Bates family has 5 special occasions to celebrate in October. Three down, and two more to go.

Tori is fixin' to have a baby! Well, in TV time, that is. This week on Bringing Up Bates, the Smiths welcome Kolter in a slightly different fashion than past Bates deliveries. Bobby is the only support person who can be by Tori's side during the birth, but the rest of the Bates ladies are able to show their support via video chat. 

Also on Thursday's episode, Trace ends up in the emergency room following a basketball injury, and the Bates continue to navigate life all the changes that life has brought (snapshots and video clip below).

Meet Kolter Gray Smith

Have you heard the news? Tori and Bobby welcomed Kolter Gray Smith on Wednesday. He weighed 6 lbs 6 oz and measured 20 inches long. One thing that was unusual about this birth, compared to past Bates deliveries, is that Bobby was the only family member allowed in the hospital due to coronavirus, which means that little Kolter has not yet met his brother, grandparents, aunts, uncles, or cousins.

We think Kolter looks just like Kade. The photo above shows the proud parents with newborn Kolter, and the photo below, taken in November 2018, shows Tori and Bobby with newborn Kade.
