Large Talks and Large Projects

Tonight on Bringing Up Bates, it's all about preparing for the future! Josie and Kelton meet with Zach and Whitney for advice ahead of a serious conversation with Gil and Kelly about engagement and marriage. When the couple "proposes" a timeline, will the Bates parents be on board, or will Gil's emotions get the better of him?

Also on tonight's episode, Tori and Bobby Smith get a first look at their baby during an eight-week ultrasound, and Gil kicks off a new church renovation project that truly is "Bates-sized."

  1. I agree with Lawson regarding the church and the church property.
The old building could have been used in so many ways. As a retired teacher, the first thing I thought of was a Home School Center for various subjects and age levels, a meeting place for Crafters for Missions, a storage center for relief programs that the boys are involved in, Bible study meeting place, baby showers, and so much more.

    1. I agree - that building was lovely - could have been a day care center, prayer meetings etc.

Really bothered me to see the church destroyed. Gil has always disliked waste - this was big time waste. . . the building was just restored, not just money wasted, but time and labor.
What ever happened to the steeple? It was delivered and admired by Kelly but never installed. MORE WASTE???

    2. The steeple looked way too big for the size of the building.

    3. I know- I'm not one to keep things but a place of worship is different. Too bad they couldn't have used the smaller chapel for something else like Lawson suggested. Just looking at the area the church is in, the background looks beautiful.

    4. They didn't destroy the whole building, did they? Aren't they just expanding it? And maybe they didn't put the steeple up because they knew they were going to renovate?

    1. An end date has note yet been announced, but it is the longest season to date, so there are still more new episodes to come.

    2. This is pure speculation but my guess is it will end with Kelton's proposal to Josie.
