  1. Beautiful, just beautiful pictures. I have never seen a family with so many beautiful people. To many colors for the bridesmaids dresses but they all looked nice.

    1. Is Josie in this picture?

    2. Yes. In a blue dress on your left. Her dress is sleeveless and has a slit showing her leg.

    3. Josie is the 4th from the left -- in the sleeveless blue dress -- with her hair falling over the left side of her forehead. With everyone wearing their hair up except Carlin, it's a little hard to identify some of them. There's a photo of the entire wedding party -- and all of their relatives -- in the US Weekly Magazine article. Josie was next to Kelton in that one, which is why I could find her in the photo above.

  2. Congratulations Evan and Carlin! The pictures are stunning! I love Carlin's dress, she looked so beautiful…Perfection! Evan looked amazing and I loved the brown shoes with the charcoal tux. I love all the Bates family and I've watched all the Wedding episodes and every Wedding was outstanding, but for some reason I was the most excited for Evan and Carlin to get married. The way they love each other is magical and they shared their journey with the fans every step of the way. I love how they included the whole family on both sides to be apart of their Wedding. May the Lord continue to bless you and keep you as you take this next step in life as Husband and Wife. So happy for you and can't wait to see the episode on BUB. I won't be able to hold back the tears when I hear them sing to each other. Cheers! The Best is Yet to Come!

    1. All these huge weddings and dramatic first kisses (and now dramatic first dances) are indeed like a stage production. How can you be relaxed and be yourself with 2000 eyes looking at you? Someone needs to elope sometime, without cameras, without a TV deal, without a magazine deal, and then maybe have a private reception later. That would shake things up. If it's true love and it's just about the two of them, it can stand that elopement test.

    2. And yet it's all real! Absolutely breathtaking pictures.

    3. For one thing, they have 19 children and know a lot of people. I think they would have big weddings whether they were on TV or not. For another thing, Carlin's dance wish was something she'd been dreaming of for a while because she thought it would be special. Thirdly, saving their first kiss for their wedding was something they were teaching their kids for years, not when they got on television. Their weddings have all been beautiful, including the first ones, and if they can afford to do more now that they're on TV, I'm happy for them. They have all had sweet, beautiful weddings, from Erin's to Carlin's.

    4. Every child is different. If I understand correctly, Carlin has had the longest engagement yet at 8 months. Maybe that was so she would be able to do the extra things she wanted to do. As far as size, Erin, Zach and Alyssa were all married before Bring Up Bate and had wedding of over 500 people. I think Erin still holds the record to close to 1000. Yes cameras are there but at this point we have seen maybe 4 minutes of what was probably a 5 hour day. The wedding special might push it up to 20 minutes.

    5. Modern weddings in general are like a stage production. Even with a typical wedding at a smaller scale, you have eyes watching you at all times and the day is planned by the hour. The emotion shown in the pictures and family congratulations video show it was a genuine and emotional day. And, yes, there are videographers at "normal" weddings who record the guests' messages to the bride and groom.
It looks like a beautiful wedding and I hope it was everything Carlin hoped it would be.

    6. I agree. What I don't understand is how the family's beliefs are evolving without explanation. I've been a Believer for over twenty years. My views and beliefs are biblically-based and have not changed one bit. I don't understand how a family that was once against dancing are now dancing! Kelly once said on the United Bates of America that she believed wearing dresses was more modest, wholesome and honorable to God. Well, now that her girls are wearing jeans does she still feel the same.

    7. 12:32 - The daughters are determining what their personal convictions are. Wearing only dresses or skirts is a personal conviction rather than biblically mandated. Dancing is also not prohibited in the Bible. Kelly hasn't changed the way she dresses even as some of her daughters have decided to wear pants. She has stated in the past that once her children leave the house they dictate their own standards and rules.

    8. @12:32- On whose Biblical interpretations do you base your beliefs?

      Delete
    9. 12:32 I’m sorry but I think that’s sad. Beliefs are supposed to shift and evolve as you study, pray, and grow closer to God. Each story in the Bible shows a slightly different view of how God moves and works and if there aren’t things that absolutely shake your faith up and make you wrestle a bit than either you’re burying your head in the sand or keeping God safely tucked away in a little box of your own making.
Ask God to reveal himself to you and stand by to be amazed

  10. Carlin’s dress was gorgeous and so was she!

  11. Not a big fan of carlin's look
For sure she is pretty and cute. But so much hair seems to eat her. She has a really petite figure and the hair and veil with the poofy dress its a little messy.
Also the dress dont look particulary "modest"
Anyway i whish them lots of love, they are good and kind young people, and deserves the best

    2. Are you serious? The dress is not modest? Please, tell us what part of the dress is not modest.

    3. Her dress is very modest compared to most wedding dresses. My dress standards are pretty much the same as theirs, and I see nothing immodest. And I think her hair, dress, and veil look perfect on her.

    4. What on earth is immodest about her dress? High neckline, long sleeves.....looks pretty modest to me.

    5. Carlin was a gorgeous bride and looked incredible. Messy would be one of the last adjectives I would use for her bridal look. The dress was as "modest" as the previous Duggar and Bates brides.

    6. Not modest, are you serious? Oh, you mean some skin on her arms, how dare she...NOT! There's always one uncouth remark, isn't there...what ev...blessing y'all 😇💙😁

  12. The way you have these pictures posted, it looks like the father-daughter dance was first. If so, that's odd. Husband-wife dance should be done first. The parent dance is second.

    1. This is the first Bates wedding to include dancing, so the traditional order of dancing you mention wasn't their tradition. The only reason there was any dancing -- and I am not aware of any dances except the 2 shown above -- was Carlin's dream of having a father-daughter dance at her reception -- not to have dancing in general. Gil had to take dance lessons to learn the classic waltz, so he could make sure Carlin had the wedding of her dreams. I guess it would have looked odd not having a husband-wife dance, along with the father-daughter dance, so they included that one, too. I guess we'll find out next season (or in another blog entry) if there were any other dances that day.

    1. They might have had a babysitting room at the venue, and the Bates family may have hired a few people to watch the little ones. Every couple in the family was in the wedding party. Alyssa and John said they came to TN without their kids...left them with John's parents probably.

    2. Everly was there. The other grandchildren must have had someone watching them so the parents could relax and enjoy the day. It was a long, hot day for little ones.

  16. So happy for them. I also love that she included her sister in law. May you be blessed with many years of happiness; may a shoulder always available when needed. May you two be as the pillars of a church: may you never grow so far apart that the ceiling comes down between you nor so close, the rest of the world crumbles around you.

    1. Geez rude much…stop looking…don't get yourself to exhausted! It's not your business how over the top they are living in amazingly beautiful settings! They are a beautiful couple and I love how they have shared their Love Story with us! These pictures are gorgeous and they both look amazing and so in love and I am so excited for them to start the next chapter as Husband and Wife.

    2. So? They’re living their lives to the fullest.

  21. Other than two memorable life events, engagement and wedding, I cannot recall any other examples of living over the top (bowling? family birthday party? online college? working as an apprentice?).

  25. I can't understand how these guys get all this money to go out and have these engagement rings made and than do all these fantastic engagement settings. My husband had a great job and he had a hard time affording to get my ring and take me out to dinner for our engagement and it took us 1 1/2 yrs to save for a somewhat nice wedding...idk
