Josie on Being Home Alone

Josie Bates Balka, Lawson Bates, Kelton Balka

Josie admits that she has a lot of fears, and husband Kelton knows exactly what they are. One of them involves being home alone, which makes sense, considering that she comes from a house full of people where alone time is rare. The video below will give you an idea of the format for tomorrow's new episode. You'll watch the married Bates, both the "newlyweds" and "oldly-weds," compete to see how well they know their spouses.

  1. I have a fear of heights and escalators. I also hate flying, because of the tight spaces, although I've learned to grin and bear it.

  2. I’m surprised she wouldn’t relish time alone after growing up in a home jam packed with people!

    1. I shared a room with my siblings before I got married. To this day I do not like being alone at night. I have two kids and it takes all of my will power to not bring them all into my bed with me when my husband is away with work. I never sleep as well when he's gone πŸ˜‚ I hate hearing all the noises aasnd and my mind starts to play tricks with each creak!

    2. Anon 2:53: put a fan in your room and turn it on 2 or 3 and point it to the floor or a wall or a corner...we sleep with a fan going all night 365 days out of a year. It masks all the night noises and after you get used to it, lulls you to sleep. After I got used to it, I can never go back to sleeping without a little noise maker like a fan! I even carry a mini one on our travels so I can SLEEP!

    3. White noise machines are good if you have allergies, because fans blowing can aggravate dust mite allergies. Someone I know and I had to stop using fans at night because of that.

  9. I thought she was looking forward to being in a more quiet place. But she's never experienced being alone before so I understand how it can be a new experience.
