Kade and His Smith Grandparents

After we shared snapshots of some of the Bates with newborn Kade Smith, several of our readers asked if Bobby's parents have been able to visit him and if we would be able to post photos. While our blog is primarily focused on the Bates family and their reality TV show, we are happy to fulfill your request. Bobby's mom and dad were able to make the trip up to Tennessee, and as you can tell, they are thrilled to meet their first grandchild.

  1. Great to see the other grandparents there also. Hopefully, they will be able to help spoil that grandson

  2. Your blog has featured many pictures of Whitney's parents already, so it is not too unusual to show the other side of the family.

    1. Your comment seems snarky. Who said anything was unusual about us being shown the in law side of Bates families? Ellie just stated this blog is mainly about the Bates family (Gil and Kelly and children) and their show but Ellie said she'd be happy to fullfill a request to see pics of the in laws!

    2. Guys, this is so irrelevant. I understand defending your point of view when it's an important matter, but why argue about this?

  3. The Smiths have been featured on the TV reality show several times. They are a part of the show.Just not regular every show. when they go to Florida when the Smiths come up there. Sort of like John and Alyssa aren't on the show while the time because they live in Florida

  4. Thank you for posting this. While I understand that the blog (and TV show) are all about the Bates family, it often times feels to me like the spouse's family totally ceases to exist. It is nice to see this isn't the case.

    1. I don't think that's the case. Most likely it's that not everyone wants to be on the tv show. We see the interactions with the Bates side because they are all part of the show.

    2. I came here to say just that. That if the co-in-laws of either the Duggars or the Bates aren't shown as much, my thought has been that they don't want to be filmed for the public to see. Thanks, Bobby's parents, for giving us a small taste of your involvement

  11. RE: the ring on his dad's finger - That's most likely a class ring from college. Have you never seen a school ring?
They are quite common. They also offer them for high school.

    1. Yes, I know what a class ring is!!! However, I was wondering IF that was a class ring or a family crest or something else. That’s why I asked.

    2. I was homeschooled and I still got a class ring. My parents had me pick one out from the nice selection from Walmart. I am quite pleased with it.
