  5. Loved seeing photos of your 4th! We visited the church that your dad pastors on Father's Day. We really enjoyed our visit. Our 6 year old was so impressed that Gil took the time to talk to him about your basketball court and he also talked about right choices.Good visit!

  11. Lovely pictures! Can we "assume" the Bates bought Mama Jane a new hammock? It is nice. . . . looks
    very comfortable.
Zach & Whitney have such a precious family - very good looking.
Hopefully everyone could visit for the 4th of July.

  12. Carlin - please lose the backwards baseball cap. . . . very unattractive. You are a very nice looking young woman (not a preteen boy)- the hat ruins it!

    1. Carlin can wear whatever she wants, and how does that make her look like a "preteen boy"? Such an immature statement. Girls, young woman, etc. can wear a baseball cap whichever way she wants to wear it, it's not limited to guys only.

    2. It's actually a good idea to wear a hat when you are outside in the summer. Maybe she just turned it around for the photo so we could see her face better!

    3. Oh my word! She was just fun-stylin ,having fun...
      it's summer , it's the 4th of July....

  15. I agree with 2:06. Wearing a ball cap (and especially backwards) just doesn't go with a beautiful womanhood as carlin is. It also doesn't match what the Bates stand for. It sends mixed messages and confuses people. I love the Bates tho! They are inspirational! But pics like this can damper...just sayin! Would have loved to seen her beautiful hair instead...

    1. yaw'll just werid.... hats do not go against what they stand for nor does it confuse or send mixed messages.... now you on the other hand maybe should find something better to comment on cause fashion sure an't what you know.......leave the girl alone.... you go carlin... your beautiful with or without the cap.....

  16. Wonderful photos of a precious family. I wish my kids could find enough time from their busy schedules, to bring my grandchildren to visit with me. But,I thrive when seeing the love they share. I do miss the Old hammock and Mama Jane's reaction to the fact that everyone loved it to "pieces"
The new hammock looks sturdy. But, we will see!
