A Gift For Gil

Do you recall what happened on Bringing Up Bates "He Said, She Shed"? Gil Bates cleaned the shed for Kelly Bates to fulfill the coupon he gave her on Valentine's Day. Well, Kelly was so thrilled that she wanted to do something for her husband in return. In the heartwarming video below, watch the Bates Mama give Gil a coupon that brings a big smile to his face.

  2. Why is there a walker against the wall? Is someone injured? Did anyone notice the flat screen TV? I thought they didn't watch any TV. What is their policy now about watching TV? Do they allow it? Thanks for the update.

    1. I think they've stated in the past that they watch certain classic TV shows and movies, like Perry Mason and Andy Griffith. As far as the walker, there's likely a very simply explanation. They may have had someone visiting who uses it.

    2. My guess is that they don't have cable, but they still watch movies. That's how it is in my house... I've always chuckled a bit when people assume you don't have a TV just because you don't have "television."

    3. They DO watch tv,they just don't watch all of what is ON tv now. I know they like old black and white shows like Andy Griffith and others. TV watching for the family is closely monitered and limited in amount of time spent.

  4. Why can't Carlin play golf too? She didn't seem to thrilled about not being included. She has a VERY valid point..she helped clean the shed so she should be allowed to play golf. Of course she is an adult, therefore she should just go play if she wants to.

  5. No, they do their videos for homeschooling on the computers.

  6. I believe it was the Duggar family who stated that they sometimes allow their children to watch certain episodes of Andy Griffith if it didn't involve dating etc. Which is really over the top and unnecessarily severe IMO.
