Love is the air for Bates Family! Gil, Kelly Jo and the kids head to Florida to await the arrival of Alyssa and John's second child, Lexi Mae. Counting down the days to her delivery, Alyssa checks in at the birthing center for a checkup, but will complications with the baby's heartbeat delay her delivery? Before the big I Love You Day celebration, the Bates sisters come together for a spa day and dish about Carlin's new boyfriend. Later, it's a 'Down on the Farm' theme for this year's I Love You Day celebration, where the entire Bates family honors Mama Jane during the festivities.

  1. I so wish Jana would join this family in marriage! I think their overt love of each other and others would be a great blessing to her! They have fun, and aren't afraid to be affectionate in normal familial ways.

  3. Okay usually I love the Bates but this episode was sort of stepford husbands and boyfriends meets hee haw. 1. Yes, agree. The appearance of complete perfectionism is dangerous. Nobody is that "helpful" all the time. As for Evan cutting Carlin's meat?? Ew!! My husband knows NEVER try to feed me or cut my food. I am not a child. I do not find it cute or romantic. Take me out for a beautiful steak dinner, with a lovely vintage red wine, but under no circumstances treat me like a baby!!

    2. She asked him to cut it. Didn't you watch the episode? She was having a hard time cutting it herself. It is ok for someone to ask for help.

    3. Where are you getting the appearance of perfection? They don't appear perfect. How can you appear perfect when you are running around and riding fake horses and playing silly games? They all seem like nice people who treat each other with kindness and respect, but I have never gotten the impression that any of them are perfect or think they are.

  4. Anon12:33 If I counted correctly you are referring to the one where Kelly is emotional over a gift. I believe that was the one where Michael had key chains made with Kelly's deceased father's handwriting.

    1. No I meant the rocking chair with all of the grandkids names on it. It was white and very cute. Yeah I don't get that papa Bill mama June thing either.

  5. Ok, in all my born days, I have never heard of someone calling their parents or their grandparents "papa bill" and 'mama jane". Are these Gil's biological parents? Why doesn't he call them Mom and Dad? Why don't the children call them Grandpa, Grandma, or a derivative of that? I find it strange. If that's the custom, why don't the Bates children call their parents Papa Gil and Mama Kelly like Gil call's his parents? Is this a NC or TN thing?

    1. I don't think it has anything to do with what state they live in. I lived in Florida and called both of my grandfathers "papa" but didn't use their first name with it. I have never heard anyone say "mama" and the first name for their grandmother, but sometimes people don't want to admit they're old enough to have grandchildren when the first grandchild comes along. One of my grandmothers was that way and she had us call her something completely different.

    2. What earthly difference does it make what they call their grandparents or parents? What matters is how they treat them.

  10. I'm just saying both tori and Carlin I believe helped Michael re decorate her apartment and you could tell Brandon found them to be pushy and opinionated. Now they can't get up and get a better knife to cut steak with come on.it just seems that some of the girls get helpless when their guys are around.just my opinion.

  11. Did not see the show. Was the weather bad that day. Hay in the house-seems like those games would be better played outside, so maybe the weather was bad.
