Bates Family to Return for 2nd Season

UP TV announced that Bringing Up Bates, its strongest original series ever, will return for a second season. According to the network, the number of viewers has grown each week.

"It's a show that entertains the whole family, which makes it perfectly suited for our brand," said Amy Winter, EVP and general manager of UP. "We are very happy to bring it back for another season and look forward to sharing new trials, new triumphs, and new grandbabies in the upcoming season."

The current season will end in just a few weeks, and season two will premiere in June and feature 13 episodes.

  1. I'm so excited! I love the Bates family and look forward to the updates that we will receive in the next season. I think the Duggar family should make an appearance or Chads family or something. Hint, hint.

    2. I don't get the UP channel. Does UP's website show full episodes of their shows so I can watch it there?

    3. Hi Phaine,

Right now, UP does not have full episodes of "Bringing Up Bates" on their website. They are working on a way to make the show available to those who do not get their channel.

      Blessings,
      Lily and Ellie

    4. UPtv says it is working on rights issues. Not sure of the meaning but that was what one of UPtv's people answered on the UPtv blog section. They are trying for companies like Amazon to have the same type of setup as the Duggars have so folks can see the show via streaming. If they get that resolved, they will then try for DVD. I am subscribed to UPtv via a survey in which the want to have some viewers who will advise them in their comments in order to improve their programming. Long answer sorry but I thought you would like to know. I love this family and they are touching and blessing so many hearts! God bless them!

Oh my goodness, I'm SO happy to hear this! I was wondering how the ratings were because I know for their TLC show, the ratings were that good and it only lasted for one season. However, UPtv seems to be a perfect fit for this show. And I love watching this show! They are super-encouraging and are so fun to watch :)

  11. Yesss! I'm happy for a second season but now I need to find a better, economical way of watching the show. Right now I'm driving 2 1/2 hrs to my sister's house ever 3-4 weeks to watch the episodes she's DVR'd for me. Does anyone know if UP TV will finally put the episodes on their website like most cable channels do? I have Charter and they dropped UP TV so now I can't even buy that tier to get the one channel. There has to be a way ... this is an obscure channel and there appears to be a large majority of people who can't get it.

BTW, GREAT job on this blog! I count on it to keep me up to date on what's going! :o)

  14. Love the Bates family, although extremely strong in their faith, they are easy to relate to. Maybe it is their Southern Charm. I love Kelly Jo's accent.

  15. That's awesome! Just wish they would put it on iTunes or Amazon! I don't have any cable. :(
If they did do that they would get a lot more people watching and buying!

  16. I'm so excited for the new season, but I still need to catch up with many episodes because AT&T doesn't support UP TV. Hopefully in the near future it will.

  31. Yeah!!! So glad to hear they will be back for a second season! I enjoyed their first show (United Bates of America) and was disappointed when it was cancelled. The Bates and Duggar family shows are the only thing worth watching on TV. And I love their theme song with everyone jumping on the trampoline!

  32. There are so many reasons why I love this show, but I think the most important is that they are real. They don't white wash situations that would be easier to just Ignore and be less embarrasing for the family. They deal with it head on and go on and have even apologized on the show for what they perceive to be shortcomings. And most importantly, Gil and Kelly set a wonderful example for their children and the television audience. May they have many more years to present this Godly example for all of us on Up TV!

  33. Praise God! I'm so incredibly Happy there's going to be a second season! And hopefully many more after that!

I have always been a Fan of the Duggars and now "Bringing Up Bates!" I tell everyone I know about both shows and encourage them to watch! And folks know not to call me on Tuesdays and Thursdays because I'm watching the only two shows I care to watch! :^) - Blessings to All! Mary

  37. I hope that there will be a way for people who don't get uptv to watch. It's frustrating and doesn't make sense that they weren't prepared for to make it available online?
