Erin's Interview with Chad's Mom

Chad and Erin Paine

The lives of the Bates were closely followed on Bringing Up Bates, and they had multiple extended family members featured in various episodes of the show. Chad's mom, Tammy Paine, appeared briefly in a few episodes, including "Boating with the Bates," "Growing Paine," and "He or She What Will the Baby Be?" but she was always present to serve Erin and Chad and never to talk about herself.

Tammy is actually a mother of 10, and Erin believes she has a lot of wisdom to share with other mamas. Erin recently sat down to interview Tammy and uploaded a video of their chat to YouTube (link below).

  2. I watched the interview. Such a wise, lovely and gracious woman. It’s sweet to see how much Erin loves and respects her. I’m sure she gets a lot of wisdom from her as well as from her own mother.

    1. What did you expect? They issue the same platitudes regularly.

  4. I wish my mother-in-law and my mom were still alive. I would have loved to hear what they would have to say about raising godly children and encouraging them to stay faithful in their walk with the Lord.

  6. Mrs. Paine came off poised and reasonable. I loved how she commented about trying to be in the Word first; but life happens and sometimes it had to wait. She seemed pretty modern, too in her responses; not fanatical.

    1. I wonder if they're still involved with IBLP. Her husband was on the board for many years.

  7. Does Erin mean to come across like that? I'm sure she is humble in real life.
