Izzy Is Back!

This weekend has been a happy one for the Stewarts. Earlier this summer, Carlin and Evan sent their dog, Izzy, away for a six-week doggy boot camp. She arrived home and was reunited with her best friend, Layla.

  2. Layla must be delighted to have Izzy back, the dog was probably rough with Layla and that's why they sent her away for training, small children are not careful around dogs and the dogs instinct would be to defend herself by biting, both my son and niece got bitten by different dogs as the dog mistakenly thought the child wanted to harm them although small breed dogs don't bite to hurt just to stop the hand, the bites he got were just small scratches, and I waited until my son was eight years old before getting him a dog and he still got bitten even though he had no intention of hurting the dog but they got lost in translation!

    1. Children should be taught how to treat animals, with kindness and respect. Many parents are irresponsible and when the animal tries to defend itself, they get blamed. The parents, who don't teach their children, are the ones to blame. You do not grab, punch, kick or pick the animals. It's that simple.

    2. OP here,I explained that my son had no intention of hurting the dog but got bitten because the dog thought he was going to hurt him, my son was just going to grab the ball beside the dog to get him to fetch it again but the dog seen the hand going near him and bit it, that's why dogs need training so they understand us properly not misunderstand and then defend themselves when no one was out to harm them, my dogs even barks at people for no reason, although I love my dog I wish I had trained him.

    1. They don't use electronic collars at boot camp. I took my dog to a boot camp and the never did that with my dog. It depends on were you live.

    2. My sister's dog never but her kids when then were little.

    3. Not all of them. But, I believe they did the right thing to have the dog trained how to behave with small children who make sudden movements.

    4. Those shock collars should be illegal. I would never let anyone put one of those electronic collars on my dogs

    5. If they had to send the dog away like this because of making sudden movements with a child which I don't believe I believe it was because she said that she didn't like people being jumped on when they came to the house then you didn't get the right dog for a small child or your family. They most likely picked the goldendoodle because it's extremely popular right now and it's the new in dog.

    6. 4:50 My son and daughter-in-law have a Golden Doodle pup. It’s a great dog, but full of energy that requires direction. They don’t have kids, so they’ve been able to devote a lot of time to training him.

    1. Now they need to train the owners how to be good pet owners .

    2. If you watch the video, Carlin clearly says that the trainer brought Izzy home so he could train Carlin and Evan how to be good parents to Izzy. Be kind always.

    3. Exactly right 💯 they should be trained to be good pet owners

  5. Wow they don't have time to train there won dog. Must be wealthy. Hope the child isn't rough with the dog and is monitored.

    1. Perhaps they didn't want an untrained dog around their precious child and the money was worth that peace of mind.

    2. Great wisdom to ask for help when you need it. Kuddos to them for seeking help for their dog instead of dropping it off at the pound when they ran into issues. Smart people make wise decisions, not popular ones.

    3. My dog was abused before I got him. I wasn't capable of giving him the training he needed. So I called in the professionals. You don't have to be lazy, everyone's circumstances are different and you shouldnt judge.

    4. It's ok to get professional help if you don't have the time because you're both working and if you have the money to do it, especially if you have a young child and want to make sure it's done correctly for her safety. A shaming post doesn't really fit this situation.

    5. I question their choice in trainers and techniques. I also question their ability to keep up the efforts so that Izzy doesn't regress.

  6. I'm not a dog lover anyway, but I would be nervous about having one with babies in the house.

    1. If the dog doesn't work out they will need to find it another home. It's that simple, we live and learn.

    2. Yes, I agree. For some reason, the Bates and Duggar families don't seem to keep their pets for the long-term. Having a pet requires a commitment, similar to having a child.

    3. Johnny was around long term 🤔 Which pet was short term in the bates world?

    4. I agree. Pets are a lifetime commitment. They are part of your family. I had hoped they gave the dog to Travis. he's doing so well with Remi and this could be a sister playmate for Remi. you don't hear Travis having to take his dog and send it away for weeks away from the family.

    5. Erin and Chad have a few animals that they have kept and the Bates family has always had a dog around the big house that they kept.

    6. ? The Bates had a dog for years and then got a puppy after their old dog died.

  12. My parents had a German Shepherd that made an excellent guard over my child esp when my child was a baby. If I had my baby laying on a blanket on the floor, Lady would come and stand right over her watching out.

  16. I've brought this up before but no one replied (on another post) what happened to JJ, Johnny Jr? On the episode where they were building him a dog house from a kit he was very rough with one of the boys!! They may have had to find him a new home that's the last we saw of him.

    1. Have we seen many episodes lately that take place at their house? Seems like they don't show the house much anymore, which means fewer chances to see if there is a dog outside.
