Zach and His Kids

Bradley Bates, Kaci Bates, Zach Bates, Khloe Bates, Whitney Bates

"Whitney is such an amazing mom and an amazing wife, and she does a great job of getting the kids excited about my birthday or Father's Day and getting them excited about Dad. Just to see that they look up to me as their dad and that their mom encourages me as their dad, that's the most powerful thing in the world."

-Zach Bates

Did you catch last night's season finale episode? It's unfortunate that Bringing Up Bates is now on break, but the closing episode was the perfect mix of entertainment and sentimentality. In this web exclusive video, Whitney and the kids honor Zach on Father's Day.

  1. I don't understand why Josie is so impressed that Kelton spends time with Willow. Why wouldn't he?

    1. 2:40PM: Her own father was such a good role model, but maybe she saw her mother always thanking him for being so great. And so she does the same.

    2. She didn't say she was impressed that he spent time with her, it was the level of time he spent with her.

    3. Probably because this is unusual in the community she grew up in.

    4. That's not what she said.

    5. Should Kelton thank Josie for spending a "good level" of time with Willow?

    6. I think it was because it was Fathers' Day, so they were celebrating the dads. The reverse would have been happening on Mothers' Day. I think it was nice. We all need a boost once in awhile 😊

    7. Of course he should. It's beneficial for marriage partners to express gratitude for what the other one does.

  2. I'm sort of surprised that the Bates allow the cameras to film them on Father's Day, which is such a special day to them.

    1. I'm not. The crew probably spent a short amount of time with each family, and then they had the rest of the day to themselves.

    2. Why wouldn’t they if they even allow to film the labouring and birthing women.

    3. A short amount of time? You should visit the set of a show and see how long it takes to get the lightening, sound, etc correct. It takes a long, long time.

    4. Fathers’ Day isn’t any more personal than any other day of celebration. As 12:33 said they film women in labor, giving birth. It doesn’t get more personal than that.

    5. Lots of negativity on this post . People talk about money look at you tuber's . Seriously what do they do to make all that money ..

  3. Zach is just so loving to his wife and kids. How sweet that he praises Whitney. His kindness sure makes him an easy guy to love. All the men in the Bates family are so gentle.

  4. Khloe is so incredibly cute. Her cheeks are so squishy🥰 It is so uplifting to watch the Bates. It gives me a welcome break from the difficulties we are dealing with in the world these days.

    2. 8:50AM: Brooklyn is in a different family (Erin's, not Zach's) but yes, she is cute too. But we're talking about Zach and his kids in this post.

  5. I admire the Bates family. I believe that they did/do an amazing job teaching the children values/morals. I'm pleased that they stand firm on their faith, but don't cram it down your face. Nor do they judge you. In closing I wish them much success, health and happiness. Thanks Bates family for sharing your life with us.

    1. I think the girls have lost their way in terms of modesty. The boys too, actually, since they often pose shirtless.

    2. I’ve never seen a Bates male shirtless.

    3. Shirtless ? Come on this show is like watching the Waltons..

  7. I guess it’s how all the Bates sons and son in laws were raised; but I am amazed at how each father is always happy to have another baby, always happy to lend a hand, always ready with praise to his wife. Is it that real or just for the cameras?

    1. The fathers would never say on camera that they were unhappy with a new pregnancy, or that they were worried about money, or that they wanted to stop.

    2. My husband does all those things and there are no cameras on us. We both appreciate each other’s hard work and help with whatever we can. We also regularly thank and compliment each other. We are an older couple but I hope these young ones continue appreciating each other. It will only help there marriages!

    3. You’re right 7:53; none of the fathers would be honest enough to say they’re a little concerned about have another child or they’re struggling to pay bills/find time to rest after a sleepless night of long day working!

    4. "I have some doubts about being able to afford another child." "I actually feel like four children is enough, I don't want to be working forever." They'd never say these things.

  8. This family is so easy to love... I am so thankful that they are still filming and they have a wonderful show that I can actually watch with my granddaughter and know that she is not going to see anything but good and positive things. So rare on TV these days. God bless the Bates family. I look forward to seeing what the Lord has in store for all their lives. I've been praying for Michaela for awhile and now for Josie and Kelton.. I just know that God has special plans for these beautiful women and all they've been through.

    1. That's hoe God intended the family to be man head of the house making sure his family is provided for and the wife makes sure the children and house are taking care of i truely love the bates and there love for God

      Delete
    2. Do you have Scriptural support for that, Unknown? Because I can't find any verse that says the man is the leader.

There are many verses pertaining to this, you can always look for them on the internet, but Ephesians talks about this the most I believe ie. Ephesians 5:22-24. A lot of Ephesians 5 basically talks about how men are supposed to provide for and take care of his wife and children.

    4. There are no verses, not in Ephesians or elsewhere, that uses the word "leader" or "head of household." This is an unbiblical idea.

      Delete
    5. 3:41, you mean besides the verse that says "the head of the woman is the man"?

    6. 11:34 Men wrote the Bible. It was in their best interests to keep women submissive to them. They certainly didn't want to admit that women are every bit as intelligent and wise as they can be. Considering the state of our country, I'd say it's high time we have a woman in the White House.

    7. All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, according to the Bible. The word translated as inspiration is "God-breathed" in the original language.

    8. If anything, Scripture says the woman rules the house: "I will therefore that the younger marry, bear children, rule the house, give no occasion to the adversary in respect of reproach"
