40 People Under 1 Roof

Brooklyn Paine and Callie Bates

Are you ready for Bates family vacation? Tonight on an all-new episode of Bringing Up Bates, the entire clan meets up in Gatlinburg for a getaway. Chaos ensues when they attempt to fit everyone into one cabin. This trip certainly won't be relaxing, but it will definitely be full of adventure. Tune in to UPtv tonight at 9pm ET/8pm CT, and let the fun begin!

The network is doing a "Watch and Win" tonight. Look for a special word during the episode and the movie that follows, and enter both words at WatchUpandWin.com. You might just win a Bates Sisters Boutique gift card!

  2. MO- Is there a time when this family isn't on a vacation with guests? Life's a vacation when you have 19 kids I guess. One of the many reason's I just read the Blog and don't watch the show anymore... The Blog highlights the little kids more and I love watching them grow. Also it's up to date with family events, not just vacation after vacation footage. :o)

    1. Having 5 kids makes me highly doubt that life is always a vacation when you have 19 kids.🤣

  3. Forty people on vacation in one cabin would be so fun, but exhausting! Just preparing meals for 40 is exhausting. And the noise level! But just to have everyone together would be amazing. We went to a cottage for 5 days last summer, the 7 of us, and it was wonderful. But even with 7, it was a lot of prep! The most heartwarming is that 40 people WANT to be together and that's a huge kudos to Gil & Kelly

    1. With that many, maybe they take turns cooking or have teams that do the work, which can be fun to be working together. Our family reunions have had rotating kitchen crews, and it's fun to hang out together while you're cooking.

    2. It looked as though they were there for a short time. Only one meal was shown being prepared.

    3. Kelly said it was a weekend.

  4. Another ten years and they’ll have to rent out an entire campground or chalet community or something!

    1. Our family does that. 4 generations of us.

  5. I noticed GIl and Kelly and some still living at home have a strong Tennessee twang and it seems to be getting more intense as the years go by. Those who marry and move away from the homestead, seem to loose this twang. Katie seems to be a different person since she has a boyfriend and so much more colloquial in expressing herself. I miss the “old Katie”.

  6. Ellie,
Do you know if the phrase is going to be given like the 'code word' they did a couple seasons back for the Watch Up and Win winning phrase? Iv watched the episodes and then the movies that follows and haven't seen any phases. I was pretty confused. I just wondered if it was going to be said instead somehow and I missed it..?
Thanks for you're hard work with this blog! I love it and check it everyday day!

  7. Sounds like a blast to me!! It could be a real disaster for most families, but the Bates are blessed because Kelly and Gil raised them to love and support one another. They set the Godly example in their home, and it shows. God bless them. I can't covet but I can envy.

  8. I'd need a vacation after a "vacation" like this one!

    1. My husband and I always say we need a vacation after taking a family vacation, lol. They’re always special and fun, but it’s usually exhausting 😄

  9. These married people still don't know how to be on their own. Kelli seems to believe that the married ones are still part of her daily household. These vacations that she likes to take shoud be for the ones still at home. Nothing wrong with occasionally getting all together for a big trip but this 'togetherness' is smoothing and it infringes on the lives of the married ones.

    1. Uh, a family vacation has nothing to do with her daily household. Believe it or not, some families LIKE to go on vacations together.

    2. This "vacation" was likely planned and paid for by UPTv, so they'd have content for an episode. I doubt they're spending 24/7 with all the married couples.

    3. Why do you think she's the only one who likes to take them? What makes you think the others don't want to be there? Why shouldn't they do it all together if they want to? What makes you think each household never takes vacations by themselves?

    4. It was only a weekend trip. I am sure they have a lot of time to take vacations with their own little families as well. It is fun to get the whole family together!!
