The Giggly Bates Bunch

Michael Keilen
"...It was definitely a humiliating time, and I don't think any of us older kids there forgot it."
-Michaela Keilen

"My parents have always focused, not as much on the sound of the music, but [on] the joyful part and the good attitude and encouraging people, which is great. But a lot of times we would mess up."
-Lawson Bates

UPtv has a new web exclusive Bates video series called Bates Legends. You'll enjoying hearing the Bates siblings tell entertaining stories from their childhood, like this one about something that happened while they were singing at a nursing home.

  1. It looks like Michaela is growing out her blond highlights, good choice! These girls look best with their natural brown color. Take pride in the color God gave you!

    1. Darker roots and lighter ends are popular now. People do this on purpose to achieve the ombre' look.

  2. Was the show on Oct 31?

    1. The network took a break this week. No new episode last night. The season will resume next week.

      Have a great weekend,

    2. “ The network took a break...”. How odd is that! Never heard of that happening in other series before.

    3. UP TV probably took a break because Oct 31 is Halloween and many typical tv viewers may have been out trick-or-treating. I know we were. :)

  3. Interesting that the adult Bates kids haven't continued that tradition of visiting nursing home. IMO, it's far more important than dress boutiques or releasing albums of your singing. The world already has plenty of those things, but precious few want to serve the elderly!

  4. MO- I agree with you. I don't know if the family still visits assisted living facilities, but if they do UPTV doesn't cover that on the show anymore. I hope this family knows that the show won't last forever and I for one really don't care for all the "hype"... clothing lines, CD's, promoting products, (chicken, AARP, cereal). I wish them all well but I find myself drifting away from the show. :o)
