The Stewarts' Master Bedroom

Carlin and Evan Stewart have been married for just over two months and just shared a photo of their gorgeous master bedroom. Erin Paine helped with the design. The green paint color behind the bed is Regal Leaf from Magnolia. What do you think? The first photo is of the Stewarts' master, and the second is of Zach and Whitney Bates' master bedroom, which was done earlier this year. Both were designed with help from the Paines.

  2. MO- I could tell it was Erin's decorating style. She was very nice to help Carlin with her new home. :o)

  4. I like Carlin's best. They both have beautiful elements but I just prefer more color. I'm not really into the modern white obsessed look.

    1. I'm with you!!! I really don't like how white, has become a popular decorating style, especially on kitchen cabinets. I love that Carlin's room, includes some green.

    2. Having a white kitchen is actually a more classic look, not modern.

    3. I am also not a fan of the all white kitchens. So, much harder to keep it clean.

    4. Ummm...a kitchen should be clean!

    5. I agree on the white kitchens. I enjoy wood tones and am sad when I see them painted over.

    6. I’d say grey is becoming a more common color than white. I’ve definitely seen people overuse the color grey and think it looks good since it’s “on trend” at the moment.

  5. BOTH rooms are lovely - But IF I had to vote, I like Zach & Whitney's better. . . not that it is a contest, just a matter of taste.

  6. Wow! Beautiful rooms. The Stewarts' is almost regal.

  7. Ellie, When are you going to do a house tour video?

    1. I really hope never; their homes are private and I would like to think they would want to keep them private.
Anyone can decorate their home just by watching the various home renovation shows on tv, buying the magazines or looking at websites. Nothing they do is so different or widely special.

    2. Last year, I read an old Home Economics book and there was one sentence in that book that has just stuck with me. “Don’t let your home look like your neighbors, let it be unique and show YOUR style.” It was written back in the 40’s and it still reigns true today. Our different likes and dislikes are apart of our individuality. Honestly, in all the google searches I’ve done, my house looks absolutely nothing like anyone else’s and we very much enjoy it. It’s ok to disagree with trendy modern techniques, and you’re not weird for doing so.

  9. Love the Stewarts' bedroom! I'd feel like I was in a nice hotel someplace in that room!

  10. Gorgeous!! Both of them! I wish l knew someone who could decorate just like Erin. I just bought my first home and I don’t know where to begin!!!
Erin next time you are in California call me! Lol!!

    2. Exactly! Or look at magazines or different stores to create your own style! You do not need Erin. She decorate fine for her own home; but she is not an interior decorator.

  11. Wow. Beautiful. I love the peace in both rooms.

  12. I love the designs, very beautiful! It's great to have a sister who is good with interier design.

    1. Target has some that are very similar but have a wood top...which could easily be painted. It's called the "Isabella 1-Drawer Night Stand".)

  15. Both are gorgeous. Great job Paines.

  17. Beautiful...I would change out the 2 mirrors for one long mirror or do something different.

  18. I’m kind of sad these girls are becoming internet “influencers”. I feel like too many innocent fans will be copying there styles when those fans budgets cannot handle it!

    1. There is nothing wrong with being an influencer, and an adult should know better than to go out of their budget, that has nothing to do with the Bates girls. There are many places to shop to get beautiful, inexpensive decor.

    2. I hope people are smart enough to stay within their budgets. If not, they would be likely to go over budget looking at anybody's blog or pinterest pictures. That is a flaw on the part of the copier, not the designer.

    3. Better than other types of "influencers".

    4. Target and Walmart have some really cute, affordable stuff nowadays. You don't need to spend a lot.

  19. I think Erin & Chad should do this kind of work. She is so good at doing this kind of thing. I sure wish she was in my family!!!

  22. The Paine's are so talented! 😍

  23. Amazing! I love both bedrooms!

  24. The rooms are beautiful but don't the beds look small? I think they are not even Queens but fulls. That would drive me nuts.

    ReplyDelete

    1. I can’t tell by Carlin’s picture but it looks like Whitney has more space to be able to fit a bigger bed. I completely agree with you. Full sized mattresses are better for one person not two adults. Even Queen sized can get stuffy with two adults. I highly doubt it is a financial issue, their boutique seems to be doing well.

    2. I thought that too. I love my queen!

    3. They look like Queens to me.

  25. What things are hanging on the green wall above the bed?

  26. The rooms look pretty overall, I would just change a few things. In Carlin and Evans room the small mid century modern nightstands don’t really go with the traditional, luxurious look of the headboard. I would also add just a bit more color or some green plants to Zach and Whitney’s room

    ReplyDelete
  27. I would love to copy Zach and Whitney's!

    ReplyDelete
  28. So bored and typicall, they both look the same.

    1. Not boring at all. That green wall is fantastic.

  29. I love Carlin's room the most but her mattress and boxed spring look really thin! I would rather initially invest in a high-quality mattress set than have the entire upholstered bed frame and other pieces.

    1. Oh they’re skinny. I would think like you for sure but then I’m a lot bigger than them. Maybe when they start expanding-lol- or hit middleage they’ll realize they’ll need a softer bed. 😊

  30. Both rooms are pretty, hoping the Bates and Stewart’s are enjoying them. Personally, it’s not my style, but our differences are what makes life fun. 😊

  31. Love it. Erin need to fix my house

  32. I like the look of loads of pillows but always think, where will these go when it's time for bed? The floor usually, and then you are putting back on the bed later

    ReplyDelete

    1. I put mine on a spot of the carpet where no one ever walks, next to the bed. Plus, we don't wear shoes in the house. Maybe they do the same?

      Delete
    2. Comment on function -- In both rooms, the bedside lamps don't seem tall enough for sitting up and reading, which is something I like to do.

      Delete
    3. It's good to have an armchair or chest to put the pillows on. I've tucked them in by the foot of the bed before. You really need a plan, because it's not healthy to keep putting dusty pillows on your bed

  33. One looks like a Bed and Breakfast room the other like a hotel room.
Both are well done, but personally I’m more into the bed and breakfast style
with fewer pillows and a bit more splash of color.

    1. I thought you were going to say the opposite on the BandB and hotel rooms! Or at least I totally thought opposite. Carlin’s looks like a hotel room with that headboard, nightstands, white sheets, etc and Whitney’s is B and B all the way. More countryfied and homey for sure.

      Delete
    2. Guess I worded that poorly. I do prefer the Band B look of Whitney and Zack's room, over the more formal look of Carlin and Evans room.
      Both were well done though.

  34. Whitney and Zach definitely need a King size mattress! He’s a big guy!

    1. In recent pictures it looks like Zach has lost weight. I do wonder how comfortable they will be when Whitney is further in her pregnancy.

  35. I have to chuckle- my husband would go bonkers with all those decorative pillows on the bed. He hates them even on a sofa. While the look is nice, I prefer to just have the pillows on the bed that I use for sleeping. We're really the only ones who see it. The rest of it is just clutter to me.

  36. Wow I love Whitney and Zach’s room!!! Both are nice though. Agree with above commenter that king size bed is a must!
