Bates Royal Wedding Celebration

Alyssa Bates and John Webster, May 2014

This week's episode of Bringing Up Bates will be another special. Since the show began three years ago, we have watched two proposals and weddings, but what about the older kids?

On Thursday's special, you'll be treated to some never-before seen footage from weddings and engagements that have been covered on the show, as well as footage from events that have not been covered on the show (video preview below).

For those who have asked if the season is over, we want to assure you that it's not. Amazon and iTunes often don't sell the episodes that are considered specials, so if you don't have access to the UP channel, you may have to wait until new episodes resume to watch Bringing Up Bates.

  1. I know Erin and Chad’s wedding was featured on 19 Kids and Counting, so I really hope they’re still able to show clips from it on UPtv!

  2. I think I’ve seen all but Zach and Whitney’s! Hopefully there will be footage of that one!

  3. Booooring. If the season isn’t over why are they airing reruns?? It makes no sense. If they hadn’t the footage of Tori’s wedding ready a few weeks ago, one would hope they would have the footage from the next week’s ready too by now.

    1. If you don't like the show format fine, don't watch it, it is your choice. But don't be snooty about it & ruin it for the rest of us ! I have never seen three of the weddings & they are showing other new stuff no one has seen yet on tv, so try to find some good !

  4. Really? More specials or "recaps"? I really like watching the Bates Family but I need to see something new- Not events that happened years ago with new clips and comments. I could understand it if the season was over, but this is ridiculous.

    2. That's how TV operates, seasons end and the reruns commence.

  7. I'm sincerely excited to see Alyssa and John's, and Zach and Whitney's weddings. I've seen just a brief clip of Alyssa's on YouTube but nothing of Zach's. I think Michael, Erin and Tori's have all been covered on the show pretty thoroughly.

    1. Hi there,

The episodes are available for purchase on Amazon and iTunes soon after they air. You can also subscribe to the UP Faith and Family channel on Amazon and watch them on there, although they aren't usually uploaded until the end of the season.

      Have a blessed day,
      Lily and Ellie

    2. Just FYI, I purchased the season pass on iTunes and I haven’t received any of the last few episodes. I’m assuming it’s becasue they’re “specials”.

    3. I still say show something new! There's a gap when the season is over where the Bates Family isn't even on TV- Show the "recaps" then. My comments are not raining on anyones parade. Comments are welcome and I'm expressing mine.

  9. I'm glad they'll be showing some footage from Tori's wedding. I was saving it on my DVR to watch later, and somehow it got erased! Hopefully UP will be re-airing it some time soon so I won't have to wait too long to watch the whole thing.

  11. Wasn't the season over after the last thursday of April? I thought that was the original time frame. May is bonus episodes or am I mixed up? If they are on and somewhat new why are people mad?

    1. Hi there,

The season isn't over yet, but you're correct about May being bonus episodes. This season is slated to be the largest yet.

      Have a blessed day,
      Lily and Ellie

  12. When did the Bates become royalty? There's no monarchy here in America.

    1. I think they’re doing all the weddings because of the royal wedding going on in England right now.

    2. It's a joke. The real royal wedding is this weekend.

  13. I just saw a 2014 hair curling tutorial by Erin on YouTube, and she is so delightful I can barely stand it. What a charming young woman! And seemingly so humble and modest in light of her family's fame.

    1. I don’t think they filmed that one. They didn’t have the show back then, but Erin filmed hers on 19 Kids and Counting, and Alyssa filmed hers on ABC. But we’ve never heard of Zach’s wedding being filmed

    2. I agree! Theirs is the only one I haven't seen.

  15. While I usually skip the "clip" shows, I'd make an exception for this one, as I have only seen footage from the weddings of Michaela and Tori. And I hope the clips are made available other than on TV, for the sake of fans who don't get UPTV, as I have heard other clip shows are only shown on TV, not in any other format.

  16. I don't think there was ever much actual film footage of Zach and Whitney's wedding, but Kellly used to cover them so well on her old blog that I felt like I saw it. She used to update on the weddings as they were being planned and then she would post just gorgeous pics of the weddings and other events. I will enjoy seeing the first few weddings over again. That's just me. L&E, you do a wonderful job on this blog and give us a lot of inside information. We love it and thank you for all the hard work.
