A Very Unique Gender Reveal

This might just be the most unique, edge-of-your-seat gender reveal that you will ever see. Katie and Travis Clark were joined by loved ones in New Jersey this weekend to find out the gender of their baby. The reveal involved a race...in the pool! Guests watched as pink and blue duked it out and tried to be the first to make it to the other side (video below).

  1. Watched the video this afternoon and thought it was the most unique gender reveal I've ever watched in my life. Seen the traditional smoke and confetti cannons on TV and YouTube videos. I've never been to a gender reveal party in person because most of my friends are either not married or live far away and my family has never been invited to one ever before.

  2. I loved the reveal, and they are going to be such loving and doting parents!

  3. I sure hope the pink swimmer guy losing his voice wasn't suffering from any -um- virus that might not be a good idea for a pregnant woman to catch.

    1. There are other reasons to lose your voice than one particular virus.

    2. You shouldn't be around a pregnant woman if you're sick with anything!

    3. 2:27, you can lose your voice from overuse or allergies.

  5. What ever happened to having a baby and then phoning friends or telling them in person who the new family member is? It's also proper etiquette to send your engraved name card to people with a smaller card, with the baby's name, attached at the top by a pink or blue ribbon. I can tell none of the Bates ever learned about that, only how to put on a show.

    1. In all my 48 years of middle class experience, I have never seen that done. I do not know anyone with engraved name cards, either.

    2. I have never hear of that before....

    3. I’ve never heard of anyone doing this… granted I grew up in the country but none of my dads fairly proper family did it either. I think a big gender reveal party is pretty common and acceptable these days.

    4. Maybe in your world you do that. I have never ever had an "engraved" card sent to me announcing a baby's arrival.

    5. That's very old school. People may still make phone calls to announce a birth to close family/friends, but then everyone else usually finds out on social media, like Facebook. Engraved name cards are also from a bygone era.

    6. Engraved cards? Never heard of that one. However, times have changed. I will add I'm not a big fan of these elaborate gender reveals though because everyone seems to be trying to outdo that last one.

    7. What a beautiful tradition! There's nothing wrong with good etiquette, ever. Aren't people always complaining that good behavior and good manners have disappeared? So why complain when someone wants to do something gracefully?

    8. 2:33, the original comment was criticizing the Bates for not following an outdated etiquette rule. Such criticism isn't exactly good etiquette.

    9. @7:09 Neither is turning things around and trying to make the innocent party take the blame for bad etiquette someone else did. It creates an endless loop.

  6. Personally, I’m over the gender reveal. Why is finding out if the baby is boy or girl needing a huge, creative announcement prior to birth?

    1. Because it’s fun!!! This was a race in a pool- nothing insanely extravagant!

  7. lol, your so-called 'proper etiquette' must have been invented by printing companies. Fortunately very few people are sucked into that nonsense.

    1. 10:43 Do you feel the same way about wedding invitations? That if they're printed, they're "nonsense"?

    2. A wedding invitation has a practical purpose. Engraved name cards really don't.

  8. I saw two other identical gender reveals just in the past week, so the uniqueness is already disappearing!

  9. Congratulations to The Clark's and The Webster's on the new addition to your families. But I was wondering if there was an update on the upcoming wedding for Lawson and Tiffany. Best wishes to all of the Bates family. I do miss your show.

  10. I am ready praying for a happy 😊 and healthy baby. If possible I would love to see the birth. I also really would love to see all the Bates family and the Duggar family members. Hopefully back on TLC or WE TV with both families having new shows and long seasons. Hopefully sometime in 2023. Natasha b

    1. Bates maybe, but as for the Duggar's,never again thanks to Josh. And forget TLC and WeTV. There are better family oriented networks like Great American Family and INSP that show clean and faith based entertainment that could and would take the Bates if these networks would just reach out to them.

  11. I follow a gender reveal account on Instagram, and this is actually a very popular thing now! Two people dress up, and duke it's out in various ways. Not unique. (Not that I care, I love all gender reveals!! But definitely not unique.)

  12. With the Josh Duggar charges The family should focus on keeping their family emotionally healthy .. the younger Duggars don’t fully under stand what is going on.
