Katie and Travis' Honeymoon

Katie and Travis Clark

Katie Bates and Travis Clark became Mr. and Mrs. Clark last Friday at Castleton Farms in Loudon, Tennessee. After their wedding, they did what most brides and grooms do. They left on their honeymoon! The newlyweds are down in Cabo San Lucas, on the Baja California Peninsula. No photos yet, but we knew you would be eager to hear where they went.

  1. I absolutely love Cabo San Lucas. My husband and I have be going for 26 years. The adult children and grandchildren love to go. The resorts are gorgeous. The people are kind. Katie and Travis will have a wonderful time.

  2. I've seen pictures of Cabo San Lucas and it sure is a beautiful place. Known for its beaches, bars and nightlife! Hopefully they enjoy it and it isn't too eye popping, yikes!

  3. Very neat. Glad they got a beach honeymoon. What girl wouldn't want a beachside honeymoon, especially in December and early Winter? I can't keep track, but I think every Bates girl who had married has taken a beach honeymoon now so far. None have taken a ski trip, countryside or international honeymoon if I'm right, not even to Mexico. Things are so different now than it was back in the old days. My parents have been married 25 years (as of today,December 7th) and they didn't take but a short weekend honeymoon locally in the state (Colorado, which is still where we live) in a fancy hotel. They didn't have the finances or interest to travel for their honeymoon. In fact, they have never traveled alone just the two of them out of state until last year (around this time too) for a funeral for my dad's mom. Twenty Five years later they are still happily married (when I say happily,I mean out of mutual agreement and not like they used to be, in deep passionate love [or so it seems to me because they hardly show their love and affection in front of us by giving each other kisses and hugs]) and have us 3 girls,me (22,the same age as my mom when she married),and my two younger sister's (20 and 17). Hope Katie and Travis have a wonderful and memorable honeymoon.

    1. 9:51PM: Chad and Erin didn't do a beach honeymoon. They travelled internationally to Ireland in November, and it looked chilly there. Michael and Brandon went to Wisconsin or Montana (can't remember) to go fishing, I believe. No beach for them either.

    2. Of the 9 Bates couples that have gotten married only the last 4 have gone on a beach honeymoon (Josie, Carlin, Nathan & Katie). Erin went to Ireland, Zach to Hawaii, Alyssa to Lake Tahoe, Michaela to Montana & Utah?, Tori to California.

    4. Didn’t one go on a western tour like Grand Canyon, Yosemite, Yellowstone type of trip? Could’ve just been a reg trip, too. Hope they have fun!

    6. Your parents did not leave the STATE for all those decades? Wow! I know people who commute to other states every day for work!

    7. There have been several international honeymoons. Carlin and Evan went to the Dominican Republic, Erin and Chad went to Ireland, and Josie and Kelton went to the Bahamas, all international. Tori and Bobby went to Yosemite (it was winter), Michael and Brandon went to Montana I think. I like the idea of a honeymoon in the mountains best.

    9. 9:51 I had to smile when you referred to 25 years ago as the 'old days.' To me, it seems like yesterday! I've been married 32 years and I have some advice: Don't assume your parents aren't still very much in love with each other, just because you don't see them being affectionate. If you are lucky enough to be married that long, you'll understand what I'm saying.

    10. Haha, in the "old days" 25 years ago, the bridal magazines I perused were advertising honeymoons in these same kind of spots the Bates have been honeymooning at.

    11. "Mutual agreement" doesn't seem like much of a basis for a marriage.

    12. I'm sure Katie and Travis hope to have more than "mutual agreement" in 25 years.

  4. But first after flying into California and renting a car they drove down the coast and had a picnic on the beach where Tori asked Bobby why is the sand BROWN? (instead of Florida white!)

    1. Having a picnic on the beach isn't the same as a beach honeymoon. It was just a stop on the way.

  5. It never seems to end well with these reality TV mega families.
