A Successful Surgery

Michael Keilen checks in on Kelly post-surgery

"Honestly, soreness from a surgery is so minor compared to the fear I was having, the reflux. You know, I almost backed out a couple of times."

-Kelly Bates

The big surgery is behind Kelly! The recovering might not be easy, but the Bates mom is so thankful that her quality of life has been restored. And the boys have her taken care of with pureed steak and potatoes (video below).

    3. 5:58PM: It's amazing what you're willing to eat when you have pain, or recovering from pain. When I had heartburn and acid reflux 10 years ago, I was happy to do any remedy, if it meant I might feel better.

  5. Judging by colorful orange leaves at the party, it may have been October or November.

  6. Lose 25 pounds and chew food, especially meat, very well. That will help recovery greatly.

  8. Does anyone know what surgery Kelly had?

  9. I, too, find it strange that they didn't mention the type of surgery (procedure) Kelly had. They should have done that. Does anyone know? She made more of a big deal about it than it actually was, IMO. More like outpatient surgery.

    1. It's not that strange. We don't need to know specifics.
