  6. Looking forward to seeing Trace journey during the new season. Do we know what the other boys do to bring income? I wonder who is working with Gil on the tree business.

    1. Lawson does his music career commuting to Nashville quite a bit and Nathan helps Gil and wants to be a preacher like Gil so I'm guessing already sometimes preaches & leads at their church, Gils in charge of. The other boys are mid-teens.

    2. I think the "middle" boys (Jackson, Warden and Isaiah) are slowly starting to help. Jackson will be 17 in February. He's the next boy after Trace. I think Nathan is the one who had the most interest in the tree business out of the older boys. Nathan also has his pilot's license and I know he's been gone for different trainings and things for that in the past.

    3. I always gathered that Nathan is the one who's mainly helping Gil and also the one who's more interested in that kind of lifestyle, while Lawson is more interested in music and entertainment. I wouldn't be surprised though if Lawson was helping with the tree business as well, as his musical career doesn't seem to be stable enough. Not that it's a bad thing, some people like to switch between different activities and not have to do the same thing every day.
Also, maybe some of the younger boys are helping too: the three middle boys must be in their late teens, aren't they?

    5. Lawson never seemed super excited to go on tree jobs. I believe Kelly said he had a lawn cutting business before he started focusing more on music.

  7. Hi Ellie

Love the blogs! Would you be able to post more about Bates career plans, mainly older children like Katie and upwards but it’s very interested to hear from all them and all their interesting ideas. Just wondering, no worries at all.

Blessings for you baby on the way as well, lots of love, Becky

  9. MO-I worry so much for our police officers... Many people these days have no respect for law enforcement. What would we do without our officers? They are such an important part of our communities. Stay Safe and God Bless!! :o)

  10. Great career choice, but scary for loved ones🙏 We need selfless individuals to step up and be role models. Zach has certainly been a great role model and brother. Congrats, Trace. You’ll be awesome.

    1. It’s rural Tennessee. I’m sure they are safe.

    2. Yes, coz nothing dangerous, etc. ever happens in rural Tennessee......

    3. 11:13- You are naive. Rural areas are not immune to serious criminal activity, I can assure you.

    4. Please don’t dismiss their job as safe just because it is “rural Tennessee”. They selflesly put on that uniform and protect those of us who can’t protect ourselves. Their job is just as dangerous as a “big city cop.” Welcome to the Law Enforcement Family, Trace!!! ~LEO wife

    5. 11:13, you dont have to live in chicago or any big city to deal with people breaking the law or on drugs, drugs are everywhere now, even small towns!

    6. The minute anyone puts on a Law Enforcement uniform, whether they’re from the city or “ rural Tennessee,” they are putting their life on the line. None of us should ever forget that. God bless you Trace and Zach for being willing to protect the public!

  11. Happy that Trace has finally found what he wants to do! He had seemed so unsure what with the trick riding, tree cutting and trying out for his school’s basketball team. Happy for him! Good luck!
