Jadon Turns 1

On June 7th, Jadon Bates turned one year old. You may remember hearing the news of his birth, followed by his nine-day NICU stay. Little Jadon just returned from a vacation with his parents and three older siblings. Five years ago, Zach and Whitney took Bradley and Kaci to Folly Beach, South Carolina, and they decided to relive that trip with all four children. On the way home, they stopped to see Gil's parents, Papa Bill and Mama Jane, at their South Carolina farm.

It has been quite some time since we have posted an updated picture of Jadon. Zach and Whitney's fourth child is already seven months old! Jadon is the 16th Bates grandchild, and No. 20 will arrive before he turns one year old. 

Zach and Whitney Bates sold their house a few months ago and are living with Gil and Kelly as they work on their fixer upper.

Whitney Turns 28

Happy birthday to Whitney Bates! Not only is she a mom of four young children, including three-month-old Jadon, but she also works hard at the Bates Sisters Boutique. And she and Zach are in the midst of a major renovation project at their new house.

Do you remember the post we made back in December 2017, with the news that Zach and Whitney Bates had purchased their first house? A few months later, fans watched them do a complete renovation on Bringing Up Bates. 

Now almost four years later, Zach and Whitney are moving on. After closing on a house that sits on 17.5 acres, they have spent the past several weeks on this fixer upper project, with lots of help from family members.

Jadon Bates is one month old today. Zach and Whitney had a newborn photo shoot done by Taryn Yager, and we thought we would share this beautiful, father-son snapshot.

2 Bates Babies in the NICU

Yesterday, we shared about the safe arrival of Hazel Balka. Unfortunately, she was admitted to the NICU for complications following her birth on Monday, but she is stable. Hazel's bilirubin levels are high due to a condition that caused her blood to fight against Josie's during the pregnancy,

Until today, cousin Jadon Bates was also in the NICU, but he was just released to go home! Pray that Hazel will be able to go home soon, as well.

Zach and Whitney Bates shared an update on their sweet little boy, who has been in the NICU since shortly after his birth on June 7th. His right lung collapsed, and he was intubated and put on a ventilator. Thankfully, his since begun to improve, but we know the Bates would appreciate your continued prayers.

Bates Grandbaby #16

Did you hear the news we shared yesterday? Jadon Carl Bates made his long awaited debut, and Zach and Whitney Bates couldn't be more thrilled. We will continue to share updates of Jadon's progress in the NICU.

We just love the meaning behind Jadon's name. As many of you know, Bradley Gilvin is named after his dad and Gil (Zachary Gilvin Bates and Gilvin "Gil" Bates). And Jadon is named after Whitney's father, Jimmy Carl. Jimmy goes by JC or J, so he and Jadon share the same initials.
