Introducing Rhett Webster

Welcome, Rhett Alan Webster! The Websters' fifth child was born March 18th, 2023, at 7:03pm. Weighing in at 6lbs 1oz, Rhett was Alyssa's second smallest baby. Allie was the largest at 6lbs 11oz, followed by Maci at 6lbs 3 oz and Lexi at 6lbs 2 oz. At 6lbs even, Zoey weighed the least.

  1. Rhett did pretty well size-wise considering he was 16 or 17 days early. He might have been over 7 pounds if he'd gone full term. I think the girls were all full term.

    1. Once you hit the 37 week mark it’s safe to deliver. It’s still technically full term. Not everybody delivers at or after their 40 weeks of pregnancy, some babies come early. She may have made the choice to deliver early. 🤷‍♀️

    2. 6:16AM: I know that. I was just remarking that his WEIGHT was good for being born earlier than the girls, not that there was anything wrong with being 16 days early. Just talking about his weight!!! The girls all went to 40 weeks and they weighed about the same as him.

    3. I’m glad she did with her heart problems. This baby is an absolute miracle.

    4. The girls didn’t all go to 40 weeks

    5. 3:40PM: Allie was one day late, Lexi was one day early, Zoey was 5 days early, Maci was 8 days early and Rhett was 16 days early.

    6. 3:40pm & 10:27pm Yes, I agree. The girls were not all full term. You can’t expect every pregnancy to go full term. Babies come when they want to come. It’s not exact science. I think the commenter needs to get their facts straight.

  2. I hope they’re able to have more children. If she’s able to get pregnant again, that’s good, but if she's unable to, then they’d be okay with it.

    1. don't you think 5 is enough?

    2. Alyssa mentioned she and her husband decided it may be their last baby because she has been suffering the morning sickness and it got worse plus this one was very severe.

    3. They still might change their mind.

    4. But God might change their minds since he’s powerful and great.

    5. @1:27 Sorry, I don't let God make decisions about my reproductive system. If I want it over, it's over, end of discussion. If my doctor tells me it's best that it's over, same. I'm not the only woman who feels this way. I doubt Got wants women rolling the health dice all the time trying for more. At some point, you could come up snake eyes and then what for the kids left behind? Not a good plan. Might sound good on paper but it's not a good plan.

    6. @1:27- Alyssa said during labor, "Sweet Jesus, this is the last time I have to do this!" It's ridiculous to project your own personal feelings about having kids on other people. If God is so powerful and set on her having more kids, he should be powerful enough to make it easier for her.

    7. I agree with 5:25pm. They should be able to make their own decision on how many children they want and not feel pressured by other people or their religion to have more. 5 may just be enough for them. Not everybody has to have 19 children.

  9. I hope this isn’t a duplicate comment, but I tried posting the other day and it didn’t go through at the time. I was just saying that I hope they post a YouTube video showing the girls meeting Rhett (including Mia). That would be fun to see.

  11. Alyssa has made it clear that they do not plan to have any more children. She was incredibly sick with each pregnancy and this one was the hardest.

This number includes: all 19 of their children, 4 daughters-in-law, 1 daughter-in-law to be, (Jackson's fiance Emerson,) 7 sons-in law, 17 granddaughters, and 7 grandsons. 13. No, IMO, this child was not an "absolute miracle". The conception took place because Alyssa and John stated that they were laxed with their birth control. This is why children are conceived...no checking the calendar; lack of birth control in place at the time. In general, the blueprint for reproduction is a miracle but children are conceived due to lack of birth control being used. Since little Rhett is here and welcomed, I wish the little guy well and a happy life.
