Trace and Lydia Give a House Hunt Update

Trace and Lydia Bates have been searching for a home of their own for a while. They are growing out of their two-bedroom rental, although they love the location. They have considered a lot of options, including building a place, but they haven't made any plans. They say they don't yet have peace from God about a location or whether to buy or build, so they are waiting. The parents of two share more details, including footage from a recent trip to Dollywood, in their latest YouTube video.

Trace and Lydia Bates' most recent vlog is packed with exciting events. Miles Balka celebrates his second birthday with a roller skating party. Roller skating is an activity that the Bates have done frequently over the years, so many of them are quite good at it. Later, Lydia and Addallee Bates take Ryker to a monster truck show. Then Lydia heads to the hospital to meet Tori and Bobby's newest addition, Gage Smith. 

Bates I Love You Day 2026

The Bates family just celebrated their annual I Love You Day celebration. This is often their biggest gathering of the year and is an event that everyone looks forward to. Mama Jane was in the hospital, so Kelly Bates took a break from being with her and came back to Tennessee to throw the party. She kept it low-key and decided to skip the costumes this year, but everyone still had a lot of fun. Trace and Lydia Bates uploaded a video to YouTube. 

Trace and Lydia Consider Building

Trace and Lydia Bates are still on the hunt for a place to buy. They have two kids in a two-bedroom rental and are ready for some more space. Right now they are leaning towards buying a piece of property and building from the ground up, but they also admit that they could change their minds if the perfect house is listed. House Hunting with the Bates

How are Trace and Lydia Bates doing? Kaia is six months old, and Ryker is two. Trace and Lydia just uploaded a new YouTube video that features a few different story lines. They are outgrowing their two-bedroom home and are looking for more space, so they are on the hunt for a new house. In the video, you’ll see them tour some potentials, and you’ll see Trace and the kids spend time at “the big house.” Later, Lydia, heads to the hospital to support Josie Balka as she delivers her fourth baby.

Lydia's Post-Delivery Emergency

Trace and Lydia Bates are adjusting to life with two children under age two. Kaia Rae Bates is one month old, and Ryker turns two in September. In their most recent video, the proud parents discuss how the past month has been for their family of four, and they share the details of Lydia's health scare. A couple weeks after Kaia's arrival, Lydia ended up in the hospital for three days with some signs of sepsis. Trace and Lydia also uploaded another video where they share more about this issue.

As they anticipate the arrival of their baby girl any day now, Trace and Lydia Bates decided to announce the name they have chosen. Lydia had the first name picked out a couple years ago, but she considered a few possibilities for middle names. Their daughter will be Kaia Rae Bates. In their most recent vlog, the couple shares the meaning behind the two names and how they made their choice. They also share some pregnancy updates. Fun fact: This baby will share a middle name with her five-year-old cousin Layla Rae Stewart. 

Lydia is 35 Weeks Pregnant

Lydia Bates is 35 weeks pregnant with her daughter. In early April, Trace sent Lydia on a girls' beach trip for her birthday, and a few weeks later, Trace, Lydia, and Ryker took a family beach trip. They are back home now and eagerly awaiting the arrival of their little girl. Josie Balka, who is also pregnant, threw Lydia a flower themed baby shower for family and friends. Trace and Lydia Bates have just revealed the gender of their baby, due June 13th. Surrounded by family, they sat down with a filled cake and allowed Ryker Bates, who turns two in September, to pull pieces off until everyone could see the color inside. Pink means girl! Congratulations to the Bates and Romeike families. Trace and Lydia uploaded a video to YouTube.

Trace and Lydia Bates are gearing up to become a family of four in less than five months. They sat down to answer questions about the pregnancy, the gender of their baby, and Ryker. Lydia's due date is June 13th, which means that Ryker will be just three months shy of turning two. Both Trace and Lydia come from big families and are looking forward to having two children who are close in age. Stay tuned for a gender reveal in just a few weeks!

As the year comes to a close, Trace and Lydia Bates have a big announcement to share. They are expecting another little one in 2025! The child will join brother Ryker Bates, who turned one in September. Lydia suffered a miscarriage back in February, so this is her rainbow baby.

Thanksgiving on the Farm 2023

Spending Thanksgiving on Papa Bill and Mama Jane's farm in Honea Path, South Carolina, is a Bates family tradition. It's always an exciting time filled with lots of family togetherness and tasty food, and this year was no different. Trace and Lydia posted a video with footage.

Baby Ryker Coming Soon

UPDATE: Baby Ryker arrived on September 12th, and both he and Lydia are doing well. 

Trace and Lydia Bates are about to become parents! Their first child, whom they have already named Ryker Cruise Bates, will soon make his arrival. Lydia's check-in for her induction is at 12am on Tuesday, September 12th. The expectant parents plan to have both their moms coming and going throughout the labor and to have Josie be the photographer for the actual delivery. They discuss their birth plan in their latest video.

Trace and Lydia Bates just made a big announcement! They recently nailed down a name for their first child and decided to share it with the world. Their son will be called Ryker Cruise Bates.
