Bates I Love You Day 2026

The Bates family just celebrated their annual I Love You Day celebration. This is often their biggest gathering of the year and is an event that everyone looks forward to. Mama Jane was in the hospital, so Kelly Bates took a break from being with her and came back to Tennessee to throw the party. She kept it low-key and decided to skip the costumes this year, but everyone still had a lot of fun. Trace and Lydia Bates uploaded a video to YouTube

  1. Were Katie and Travis there?

  2. We really don't need to see the Bates loving each other. That's the easy and selfish thing to do. We need to see them loving other people. The homeless. The immigrants. The marginalized. The hurting. Reach beyond themselves and show some true Biblical love. "Whatever you did for the least of these brothers and sisters you did for me." They don't do it, and it's very sad that they don't.

    1. How do you know they don't already? Are you with them 24 hours a day? If you are going to mention biblical topics such as love, surely you should know Matthew 6 1-4 where it says that you should do your good deeds privately. Why don't YOU show us how YOU love other people? You aren't showing "biblical love" with your judgemental, nasty comment. You just wanted a "gotcha" moment.

    2. With all due respect, we don’t know every instance of when they help others. They may choose not to disclose that to the public. Jesus even taught about this in Matthew 6. Our giving isn’t to be broadcasted to others, but rather, to be kept private. We know that some of them provide help in natural disaster relief efforts. We also know that Brandon and Michael are fostering. I’m sure there is much more we don’t know about that they’re doing to love and care for others. Ultimately God knows and that’s all that matters.

    3. This comment is gold! The Duggars act very similarly.

    4. I have every confidence they do those things through their church but are not ones to broadcast it.

    5. You have no proof that they don’t do it for others!!!! The bible says that the right hand is not to know what the left hand does, which means that you shouldn’t publicly display what good you do for others!

    7. Maybe they do acts of charity privately.

    8. The Bates wouldn't keep something like that private. If they were doing charity they'd say and be encouraging others to do the same.

    9. I believe Kelly has said on their show, that I love you day is like their Christmas. They had other families to spend the holidays with and Feb 14 became the time when all the family could make time to be together without conflicting obligations.

I like that this year’s event was more low key. IMHO they have been getting over the top recently, like they forgot why they started it in the first place.

    10. They're not doing charity, they're asking for money for their own "charity" (that disaster team stuff).

    11. "Giving away" promotional stuff they get from companies (in exchange for more clicks and views) is not charity.

    12. Families are allowed to celebrate the way they want want. The Bates allow us to peek into their lives. When they help others, and don’t show that, I believe it’s called privacy, and also I don’t think you watch their posts, the family does help in emergency situations. Think before you speak, or post.

  3. Mama Jane in the hospital? That sounds like she's quite ill.

    1. She had a stroke and was found by one of her sons 8 hours later. She's lucky all things considered.

    2. Carlin explained it better in the video Evan posted on YouTube: https://youtu.be/a1m17QSuQrM?si=AWxttN_5ozkYsRyo

    3. Mama Jane had a stroke. Her other son who lives near her found her on the floor unconscious hours after she had had a stroke (no one was with her at The Farm because Kelly Jo went home to TN that week to see her family) after worried family members hadn't heard from her in hours. She was in the ICU for several weeks and family came in from TN and FL to visit her in shifts thinking she may not make it. She is still recovering in the hospital but out of the ICU. It's going to take awhile for her to get back home to The Farm because of how severe the stroke was. Probably will never fully regain her mobility again and may have to have family members take turns caring for her around the clock 24/7 from now on.

    5. I think that Mama Jane needs long term care. It's difficlt for the family to deal with.

  4. I feel for Katie. I love you day probably no longer has the same meaning to her.

    1. Hopefully the love of her other family members is still just as strong as all the other I Love You Days. But yeah, Valentines Day must have been bitter.

  5. Kates an adult am sure she can handle Valentines Day without Travis.

    1. She still has Travis. She didn't leave him and she never will. She will live the rest of her life being treated like trash by this guy. Her parents would never encourage her to leave him. Just because you confess doesn't make it right. Once a cheater, always a cheater.

    2. Kate then has a decision to make. Her choice to stay or go is HER choice not her PARENTS she is a big girl capable of making her own decision.

  6. Looks like they skipped the costumes AND the cleaning this year. All those nearby kids and nobody could clean first? So much for the Bates and their trad wife stuff.

    1. A few weeks ago, Carlin called Kelly Jo to ask her to come over and cook dinner for her family, which is so lazy and entitled that I was shocked. Kelly Jo responded that she was having people over soon for some sort of celebration and the house was a huge mess and she was overwhelmed trying to clean. Carlin took her family to Zach's house for him to prepare dinner for them instead. She did NOT offer to help Kelly Jo. Apparently, no one else did either, and Kelly Jo cancelled the event.

    2. What did you expect? Gil and the kids that live at home don't clean and Michaela was too busy to make costumes. No wonder Kelly spends so much time with Mama Jane.

    3. Anon 10:58. I wonder why they would tell these stories on themselves. The whole family seems rather dysfunctional if that sort of thing goes on all the time.

    4. Her mother-in-law has had a serious stroke, she is helping to take care of her, and figuring out how to handle the future and you’re criticizing how the house looks? So petty, judgmental, and superficial of you! The perfection of that house doesn’t matter at all time like this. Somehow everything always gets dumped on Kelly Jo.

    1. Why does it matter what they call it? And no... not all Christians celebrate the same holidays.

    2. They have called it I Love You Day, since before the show. You can call it what you want, and they can call it what they want, it has nothing to do with Katie and her marriage.
