Praise Report

The Paine family is rejoicing today! Bates fans have been praying fervently for Erin Paine, who has been in the ICU fighting for her life, and for newborn Henry Paine, who has been in the NICU. Just two days ago, Chad shared that Erin had had a severe seizure. Miraculously, she has turned a corner and is on the road to recovery. The staff brought little Henry to cuddle with Mama in her hospital bed.

  13. Praise God that Erin has turned the corner and is on the road to recovery. Such wonderful news. Both Kelly and Erin dealt with Sepsis this year and both from a kidney infection (Kelly from a kidney stone that infected the kidneys, Erin from a UTI that infected them). I will continue to pray for Erin for full healing.

  15. Why is nobody praising the doctors, nurses, medical researchers, and drug developers who are the real heroes here? I'm also confused about why many sick people don't have good outcomes, even though they are prayed for just as much. If there's not a good outcome, are there feelings of severe letdown and anger instead of praise? How do you explain that?

  22. If everything is God's will, then why are people beseeching to change that to what they want? I don't understand.

    1. No one truly knows what God's specific will is for each individual. So we pray for what we desire/need. Sometimes it lines up with His will. Sometimes it does not. Sometimes God will change His mind on things. Sometimes things happen that He did not plan for us, but He'll work though it.

    2. 7:10 That sounds so fickle, why would anyone want to rely on that. Get me to a hospital with knowledgeable doctors and nurses. Then let's see if my body's own systems can overcome what's happening.

  23. I think it is very wrong that they are only thanking god and not the medical staff.

  30. This is why you should never support anyone who wants to take health care coverage away from the people who need it most. You could be next, and this could be you. Can you imagine what the bill for this birth and aftercare will be. Life-ruining without help.

  39. You know, I am a person of faith, but I can't understand why so far Chad has not given any thanks or credit to the numerous doctors and nurses working on his wife? Sometimes, God works through medical staff. It's a shame that they haven't been given any credit for Erin's care.

    1. I don't think it's necessary to insert what we think a person in crisis should be thinking or saying. A person in crisis often has all they can do to hold it together and may not say everything "just right."

    2. @6:28 They're taught who to thank first, and it's not their fellow humans. It's a shame not to see what's right in front of you and who's doing all the work. If God is so powerful, then Erin & Chad should have sat back and let that power alone heal. They did not. They wanted all the human help they could get so they could then "praise" who they give credit to.

  41. I knew God would answer our prayers for Erin, her baby and husband and children. She an amazing devoted mother to her children. They are truly blessed to have her as their mother. Kelly Jo set a wonderful example of a godly Christian mother for her family too! PRAISE GOD!!

    1. I don't understand comments like 1:51. Is Erin more worthy in God's eyes than the millions of other people in the world who also need help or a miracle? Why would prayers for her be answered but not for the others? Really don't understand the criteria for who gets blessed and who doesn't. What is the explanation for this system?
