Bates Grandbaby #26

This year is turning out to be another year full of new Bates grandbabies! In both 2021 and 2022, the family welcomed four little ones, and there will be at least four delivered this year, as well. Trace and Lydia Bates just announced that their first is due in September! The expectant parents took to YouTube to share the moment when Lydia found out and revealed the news to Trace. Their child will be Gil and Kelly Bates' 26th grandchild. Hailey Clark, born last month, was #23. Rhett Webster is due in April, and Zach and Whitney's fifth should arrive in August.

    2. @ March 7 at 11:33am: It's actually 4 months because they got married in October.

    3. Why wait? They’re in their mid 20’s & wanted to start a family. What a wonderful blessing it is to have your first baby <3

    4. They’re lucky to conceive young. Trace is 26, and Lydia is 24 almost 25.

    5. I think the commenter meant they waited a whole two months to announce the pregnancy after finding out because she took the test in January she stated the date on the tube video.

  2. Congratulations Trace and Lydia!🥳 A little surprising they got pregnant before Lawson and Tiffany since they have been married a little longer. But you never know when Lawson and Tiffany might announce they are expecting too, breaking the record of 4 grandkids for two years in a row.😊

    1. Lawson and Tiffany are trying to have a baby. They showed a negative pregnancy test several months ago on their YouTube channel.

    2. If Tiffany can’t get pregnant, and fertility treatments don’t work, they can adopt. Michaela got pregnant earlier this year, but she had a miscarriage.

    3. 8:32PM: Is that really true? Michaela got pregnant earlier this year but miscarried? I didn't know that.

    4. @8:32 "If Tiffany can’t get pregnant, and fertility treatments don’t work, they can adopt."
I doubt anyone trying to get pregnant needs to hear that very redundant and dismissive advice.

  3. Congratulations Trace and Lydia! I just watched the video on their YouTube channel last night. Lydia was so cute taking so many tests to make sure. It reminded me of my first pregnancy. I was so nervous doing the tests also.

  5. I was actually hoping their announcement wasn't this because I always hope these young couples will break the mold, wait a little longer and enjoy just being married for a bit. Her nervousness with the tests was cute, but I'm always a little amazed/concerned when they're surprised to be pregnant. Knowing most of them likely don't use birth control and most get pregnant so early, I always wonder if they don't understand how cycles work or wrongly assume it will take more effort than they expect, or really do expect it and are just being a bit dramatic for YouTube. It's a joy and a blessing, for sure, but if you're not doing anything to prevent it and are typically "available" for your husband as they're apparently taught to be, it should not be a shock when it happens so quickly--unless they've actually been actively trying since the honeymoon and already had a lot of negative tests. I remember hearing things about the Duggar girls always having pregnancy tests available, so I'm sure there are lots of "negatives" we don't see, maybe monthly for some. I honestly can't imagine living like that. I still enjoy following along with the families and wish them all the best, but I do wonder how much some of these new wives understand about the process going in, given their shock. And please, someone tell her that Dollar Tree pregnancy tests work just as well, and you can buy at least a half dozen of them for peace of mind, for the same price as one "fancy" one!

    1. If you watch their u tube channel you will hear that Lydia said that they have been careful on not getting pregnant they only just started trying recently that's why she was shocked to get pregnant so quickly, but anyway most of the kids have admitted they are not going to do things like their parents, they admitted on using birth control just not hormonal ones as they don't want to risk miscarriage, and some have said that they will have a fairly large family but they will limit and space them and they know that God understands if you can't afford or handle a large family you shouldn't have one, they will have as many as they can handle but they are doing their best to have patience and be good parents because they believe children are a blessing from God.

  14. They are a beautiful and sweet couple. But don’t any of these newly married couples want to just wait a few years and enjoy that incredibly special time when you are newly married and young and it’s just you and your husband or wife . You can travel or do whatever you want and have the freedom to enjoy before kids come along. Because as we all know once that baby is born the husband is no longer number one for many years . They all are so young anyway when they get married. They could enjoy eachother as a couple for ten years and still be really young to start a family. I just don’t see why they all rush into it.

    1. We had 7 years from our wedding till we had our first living baby and altho our baby was a long awaited baby, I strongly believe our adjustments to not just being the 2 of us was a LOT more difficult since we had 7 years versus say 1 year of just being the 2 of us…..

    2. Totally agree but not sure the girls are given a choice.

    3. I waited five years. My marriage was no better, if anything it became worse. Stop assuming all couples are the same. This is an ignorant assumption. Just mind your own business.
