Update from Katie Clark

It has been five weeks since Travis Clark publicly confessed that he had cheated on wife Katie Clark. Katie shared a brief but well written response on social media soon after and has since been focusing on spending time with her children, including visiting the Websters in Orlando and celebrating Hailey Clark's third birthday. Katie just shared an update on her heartbreaking trial, in which she states that she is preparing to start a four-day therapy intensive. The rest of her statement can be found on her social media page and in a People Magazine article

  2. Thank you for the update Katie and Travis are in my prayers and their family

  3. They have no concept of the word "privacy" and when it should be applied. Anything for a buck.

    1. She should not be going public with this let alone getting a magazine to do a story about it. My gosh.

    2. Travis did that.

    3. Unfortunately, I guess privacy doesn't pay. Everything should have stopped for the family, when the show was taken off the air. What they showed was not real. As long as the sponsors pay them, they will continue to share, real or not.

    4. Very true 6:39. I have no idea how any of that aligns with what are supposed to be strong Christian values.

  4. I pray our Lord will walk this path with you providing comfort and lighting the way forward. Love and support of family and friends is a great source of strength. You do not owe the world anything. If it is privacy you need never feel obligated. Focus on you and your children and your wellbeing. God bless!

  5. Sadly, this shows a huge downside to marketing your life on social media. I can't imagine the pressure she feels to handle this publically rather than just being able to deal with it privately.

    1. So true, but I'm beginning to think that Travis doesn't WANT to share his life on social media.

    2. According to their Q&A videos, he was the one who suggested starting the YouTube channel.

He left his job to pursue social media full time.

Now social media is his family’s income—and since closing the YouTube channel, it is primarily Katie’s Instagram providing for their family. She can’t just drop her family’s income because her husband chose to be unfaithful. Even if she wants off social media, it will take time to replace her income—Travis doesn’t seem to have a job, we don’t even know if he’s providing any help, plus Katie has just had a miscarriage and now his infidelity to deal with. And HE was the one who chose to make it public.

    3. @1:40 Sadly, there are many young women who think they can rely on a man to support them. That simply isn't reality as stuff happens. You do yourself a huge favor by getting an education or training in order to establish your own work experience and career so that you can support yourself and kids if need be. IMO, social media is a fickle business and not a reliable source of income. Kind of like pro sports, it's a small minority who make it that way.

  6. I still feel bad for Katie right now. Hope therapy separately and together with Travis helps them deal and sort out their relationship. Only God knows if their marriage is salvageable or if it's best to get a divorce. I pray it's salvageable because getting a divorce only would make life worse for both sides and is the easy way out of problems.

    1. Divorce is not the "easy" way out of anything. It's heartbreaking. Staying in a broken marriage where trust has been lost doesn't make things all better.

    2. @2:21 The "easy" way out? Nobody I've ever known who got a divorce would call it "easy." It's a lot of work breaking up and starting over, plus it's expensive! Staying together because you're frozen in place, even if can't ever forget, seems like the "easy" way out.

    3. “because getting a divorce only would make life worse for both sides and is the easy way out of problems.” So now you’re an expert on the subject?? I finally opted for a divorce and it was 100% the right decision. It did not make things worse and it was definitely not “easy!” I wish people would stop judging and stop pretending to know what is right or best for other people’s lives.

    4. 2:21- I assure you for those of us that escaped abusive marriages divorce wasn’t the “easy” way out.

  7. Since there's no mention of Travis in this update, it once again is all about Katie and her wants and needs.

    1. Travis is the one who cheated! Why should his wants and needs be considered? Katie needs to take the kids and run!

    2. Katie is not obligated to say anything about Travis. She needs this time to process this and try to heal and find the best path forward. As the injured party, the decision to stay or not stay is hers and she needs to focus on just herself sometimes in order to make the right decision.

    3. As it should be!

    4. As it should be!! He broke his vows and now she is left to pick up the pieces. Her life will never be the same but she has to continue on with her responsibilities, and getting help to process the betrayal is the right thing to do. She is making steps forward and this is all about her healing from a deep wound she didn’t deserve.

    5. Do you mean to convey that Katie is acting selfishly by not mentioning Travis? She got gut punched by his selfish infidelity! She needs to get her bearings and strength to make decisions for herself and her children.

    6. Travis is the one who cheated, he was the one who did the damage. Travis has two sides, the one who pretends to be a wholesome good guy, and the other a serial cheater, as he said he did it multiple times. Not really interested in what he feels or wants. Prayers for Katie and the kids.

    7. 4:17 Travis already made clear what his wants and needs are through living a lie and cheating on his wife.

  8. Prayers for all involved.

  9. I still can’t believe Travis would do something like this. Continued prayers for Katie and family.

    1. Why can't you believe Travis would cheat on Katie? For all different reasons.

  10. Only Katie can decide through prayer what is best for her and her children. I pray that Travis can come to true repentance for his sin against his wife and family. We are all sinners in need of the forgiveness and grace of God. It’s easy to judge others, but we forget that none of us are perfect.

    1. I never forget that I'm not perfect... far from it. However, any family that wears their Christianity on their sleeve, all the while compromising their privacy on a TV show or through social media, shouldn't be surprised when the public expresses an opinion about their behavior.... and neither should you.

  11. There's something to be said for maintaining a low profile and maintaining privacy. Life is challenging enough without feeling a need to air your private matters publicly.

    1. They can't do that because their income depends on them displaying their private lives and families on social media. And every time you watch, they make money.

      Delete
    2. @11:31 That's why I don't watch. I'm not contributing to their feeding frenzy. I'm all for people supporting themselves with actual jobs and not selling privacy or bending their personalities to try to please an audience. It's so fake and so harmful. There are alternate ways that don't add to their pockets, if you must watch a video. But ask yourself first why you need to look.

    3. Then both get real JOBS! They won't have to go PUBLIC then about their lives. It's like selling your soul to the Devil.

    4. @11:31 No one is forced to depend on social media for income. Placing money over protecting family privacy is not something deserving of admiration, IMO.

  13. I don't even want to listen to Travis sing anymore. Everyone can make mistakes but I think he has emotionally tortured his little family and there is still an open end to this (and so fans are tortured now too). I feel for Katie when I see her looking lonely and making comments about feeling unstable to go out of her house. That should not be her life. She should be a confident, emotionally secure beloved wife and mother. Her emotional reality now is quite the opposite of Travis's songs. After vows of mutual love in a traditional Christian marriage she's now struggling to explore independent emotional stability through therapy at a retreat with a horse.

    1. I’m the wife of a combat soldier. While this family is going through emotional distress, mostly due to their need to profit from it with their continued over sharing, I think you should revaluate what “torture” actually involves.
