We shared last week that Zach and Whitney’s sixth baby is a girl. They uploaded a video of their cupcake roulette gender reveal to YouTube, if you would like to see the moment when they found out the news. Zach and Whitney elected to do an at-home reveal with their kids, rather than a big party. Carlin and Evan Stewart stood behind the camera and set off the confetti cannons.

I love the joy and happiness in the faces of everyone in the family when baby girl was revealed. This little baby girl is already loved and siblings so happy to add another sister to the family. She will join the HUGE Bates family of cousins and never run out of children to play with!!
ReplyDeleteEnough already with the internet gender reveal spectaculars that make messes, waste money, ruin the environment, or worst of all, and it has happened too many times, cause the fire company to have to come. Someone needs to start an internet movement to bring back old-fashioned baby news - just telling people over the phone, in person, or sending announcements after the birth. It worked perfectly for thousands of years. The only one who needed to know gender ahead of time was Mary, and that didn't require cupcakes or confetti cannons. I'm not sure she even told Joseph! She certainly didn't feel she needed to tell the whole town. News got around afterwards just fine, didn't it.
ReplyDeleteIf you don’t have anything nice to say please don’t say anything at all
DeleteMary wasn't the only one who got to know ahead of time: Elisabeth knew she was gonna have John the Baptist, and Samson's parents knew ahead of time as did Abraham and Sarah about Issac. In those days all you needed was an angel messenger. Nowadays we have the less then miraculous ultrasounds. :)
Delete@7:22 "Got to know" is different than NEEDED to know. There was some major explaining that needed to be done in Mary's case...
DeleteOk, Debbie Downer @ 11:00. I wouldn’t call a few cute cupcakes an environmental disaster or even an over-the-top announcement. They involved their children in a sweet way and made them feel a part of the excitement. Lighten up.
DeleteI don't begrudge them their celebrations. Find the joy in life! Also their younger kids will know they were just as wanted and celebrated as the older ones.
DeleteI think this is such a creative fun way of using cupcakes , and to include the other children in the intimacy of your own home with all the children participating. Using cupcakes would be a creative way to put an engagement note in((not the ring, it may be swallowed)!
