Video Update on Erin

For the first time since the birth of Henry Paine on August 25th, the Paines are sharing a video update. Chad Paine took to YouTube to give a heartfelt thank you to those who have prayed and to provide a brief update on Erin‘s health. She continues to lack function in her right leg, and he explains that her doctors do not yet have an answer or an explanation, although they remain hopeful. The parents of seven are grateful that Henry is doing well and that they are at home with all their children.

  1. So nice to have an update from Chad. It's hard to be hopeful in this difficult situation. All the best to them.

  2. I am so happy that Erin is back home with her family. Through prayers and even the familiarity of being at home, surrounded by one's family can do wonders in recovery. What a blessing to have so many helping hands, ready and willing to serve as she gets better. The prayers will continue! What a mighty God we serve!

I'm certain that the health care workers have already looked into this, but could Erin have had a reaction to the epidural, if she had one? I only ask because it came to remembrance my friend's mom. When I was in high school about 18 years ago, my friend's mom had her last baby and had an epidural. She was fine after she had her baby, but about 2 days later, she woke up with having no use and feelings in one of her legs. She used a wheelchair for about close to three months before she regained control and usage of her leg. She was quite scared! Just a thought!

  3. She was at a VERY high risk for a stroke. That's probably what happened with her leg. I can't imagine the doctors haven't realized this. What suprises me is how astonished Chad is that this high risk birth did not go like the others.

    1. I’m sure the medical team was WELL aware of Erin’s risks as her whole pregnancy was high risk. I imagine the medical team has done every scan including brain scans for a stroke evaluation.

    2. Why do you assume the doctors don't know these things? Kinda rude when you don't know the situation.

  4. Very hard to believe that this far out, her doctors don't have an explanation. By now she should have had tests to rule out a stroke, imaging tests everywhere, nerve tests, the works. She needs to find new doctors who will dig deeper.

    1. Do you know that her doctors have not done scans and imaging to rule out a stroke? Do you believe they have not done nerve tests? Do you think they haven’t done “the works”? What do you think the doctors were doing for nearly 3 weeks while keeping Erin alive?

    2. I agree. I think they know more about her leg problem than they are revealing. A MRI should have been done after she had that seizure Chad mentioned to detect any neurological damage.

    3. There are cases that baffle doctors and multiple tests are done with no definitive answers. I'm sure her doctors have done all the test you mentioned to rule things out and I'm sure she will still be under strict care until things are resolved.

    4. @7:25 The updates have been so vague, who knows. Maybe Chad & Erin don't understand what was done and can't explain it well on camera. I hope they did all the tests but for there to be "no answers" is too strange.

  5. I’m so glad I never had children so I don’t have to worry about stuff like this.

  6. Thankful for the update. I found myself choked up while seeing Chad choked up. What a hard time for Erin,Chad and the family to go through. I most definitely will continue to pray everyday for Erin's health and mobility to be restored to what it was before or even better. Thank you Lord for healing, blessing and protecting this family,in Jesus Christs name Amen.❤️

  7. Hopefully this will be their last baby! I realize that they have beliefs regarding birth control but he doesn't need to be a young widower raising 7 or 8 kids.

    1. Anyone can get hit by a car so should Erin never leave her home again? You have to be realistic. Sepsis can happen to anyone, pregnant or not,as in her Mom's case, just as one example.Nobody knows how long they have on this earth so live it the way that brings you joy. If people had to worry that they may die after having children, nobody would have them. It would be a little different if what happened to her was 100% because of her pregnancy, but again that would be a discussion between Erin,Chad and her doctor.

  8. Don't judge the Doctors doing what they can do. Go easy on them they have a hard enough job already and many patients. God will guide the hands of the Doctors. Everybody seems to have opinions when a Doctor can't give causes of what's wrong with someone they are not God so go easy on them.

    1. Sorry, but it's basic biology that everything in the body happens for a reason, be it chemical, physical, electrical, whatever. If a doctor can't give a cause, then find another doctor, do more tests, dig deeper.

  9. IMO they should be a little more forthcoming about the situation instead of saying Erin has some sort of mysterious ailment no one can explain. It's pretty obvious she has a neurological problem which has resulted in the loss of function in her leg.

    1. You don’t know that for sure. Only God knows what’s causing the issue and why and He is definitely in control no doubt about that at all.
