Bates Watch the Solar Eclipse

This afternoon, the Bates gathered at a friend's pool to watch the solar eclipse. Even Michael and Brandon Keilen drove down from Chicago for the event. The film crew was present, so you can look forward to the festivities on an upcoming episode of Bringing Up Bates.

Were you able to see the eclipse?

    2. I'm guessing Old Navy. I have a dress that looks just like that from there. Also, I have an Old Navy ad on this blog page, lol, and I haven't done any online shopping from there in a year.

  6. I was in the middle of physical therapy but was able to take a break to go see it. Unfortunately the rain clouds would get in the way periodically but what we did see was amazing.

  7. We were! I took some time off work because I was terrified my littles were going to dare each other to look directly at the sun but lo and behold mommy is the only one who looked up too long and saw spots for an hour! Lol

  9. Yes. We drove from Colorado to Wyoming to see the total eclipse. It was so worth it. But a drive that should take two hours took three going there and five coming home.

  10. Too bad they were stuck in someone's backyard with a fence all around. If they would have been on a hill or in a field they could have experienced a 360 degree sunset. It was phenomenal where we were at!! So beautiful all the way around!! But then we were right underneath the umbra... This will be my most favorite thing I'll always remember about the eclipse. But you needed to be in a place to be able to see the horizon.

  12. I didn't because my daddy was being mean and looked at it I just wanted to look at it with glasses for 2 seconds but sweet momma got home at the end and let me see it after he left

  13. Of course they couldn't be bothered with the funny looking glasses while filming...had to buy chic-er (yes, I made that up) looking welding inserts. I'm sure they thought about their appearance WAY ahead of time...
