John and Alyssa's Career

On tomorrow's new episode of Bringing Up Bates, "Sunshine State Bates," John and Alyssa Webster share a sneak peek into their busy lives. John works Monday through Friday in the heating and air conditioning industry, and in the evenings, he and Alyssa run a cleaning service (video preview below).

  1. Alyssa & John:

The family that prays, cries, laughs and enjoys life to the fullest together-WOW! It only makes sense that you would have a cleaning business together and that Allie Jane is a part of it as well:) Bravo to you both and what exactly does Allie Jane do with her paycheck-lol:) God Bless!

  2. I am really impressed with their couple! A happy marriage isn't about money or having perfect children - it's about working together as a team. Early in their marriage, my parents ran a small business selling wholesale detergent from their one-bedroom apartment. They would box and ship orders in their tiny living room late into the night as the baby (my brother) slept. My father eventually got promoted in his day job and ended up having a great career and affording many luxuries. But they always remember those early days very fondly. I would love my future marriage to start that way as well.

  6. I am impressed with their maturity and industriousness at such a young age.
They are a good match and setting an impressive example for family members, friends, and for those who watch these reality shows.

  9. I'm so happy to have an episode of their life in Florida, since we usually just see them during visits. Wow! I'm impressed too by their diligence!

  11. So nice to see Alyssa actually works outside the home. It's just my opinion but I believe every Mother should work part-time outside the home to help bring in some income. The Proverbs 31 woman had her own business--she purchased lands from her own earnings. We are help mates to our husbands which includes easing financial burdens. Good for John and Alyssa. They appear to be very balanced---not in competition to reproduce as many children as humanly possible--not giving in to ridiculous modesty standards--working ( not grifting) for what they have. Yay for themπŸ‘πŸ½

    1. I say this all the time! Yes someone can stay home if that is what they choose. Every couple has to decide for themselves. When a woman has a job I always defend her quoting the proverbs 31 woman. I work part-time and I enjoy it.

  13. Not to be RUDE, but every time we see Allie Jane, we never see her face, I was just wondering why, I think she's a cute kid, on the top, of family's headshot pictures, and she has thinking eyes!!!!!!!!!

  14. To the person who said that she thinks all mothers should work outside the home -- I find that incredibly offensive. Who are you to dictate what others should do? I very proudly am at home every single day and am able to care for and educate my child. I would never work outside the home with a child in the house. She is MY child, not the child of a daycare teacher or a babysitter, and she should be raised by ME.

  15. Amen and preach!!!! I worked for many years in a very upscale ob gynecology office in downtown Chicago. Many of.the patients spent their days juggling their job.kids.daycare etc. It made motherhood look like a chore instead of the wonderful experience it is. Most people that I worked with fell into the "I have to work so I pay for daycare "cycle with most of their income paying daycare centers making their income almost totally going to daycare costs.when I would suggest they stay home instead they would say they couldn't afford to.made no sense. I ENJOYED seeing Alyssa and her life in Florida they are a wonderful family. I love her sign that says I LIKE MY CREAM AND SUGAR WITH A DASH OF.COFFEE. so cute.
